Hey guys, Jana here,

Can one possibly get enough ‘John Wick‘? The answer to that question is “Hell No!!!” Well Starz and Lionsgate TV have joined forces to bring us ‘The Continental‘, an serial adaptation of the films inspired by the film and occasionally featuring the Baba Yaga himself, Keanu Reeves. It will be set in the universe created for 2014’s juggernaut ‘John Wick‘ and the 2017 sequel ‘John Wick: Chapter 2‘. These films established a dynamic world and more than got the ball rolling to make audiences demand more. There is a tertiary film in the series standing in pre-production now, eyeing a 2019 release date.

Mila Kunis & Rob Zombie Join Forces For Starz Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 22nd, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

Dolly Parton’s favorite emotion may be “laughter through tears”, but mine is laughter through horrific screaming. In that vein, Starz is developing a half-hour horror comedy series from about as unlikely a duo as horror and comedy, Mrs. Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis and horror icon Rob Zombie.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Evil-Dead-Ash-Poster-11

Bruce Campbell is back as Ash. He’s re-attaching the chainsaw and gripping his boomstick once again as he faces a deadite invasion after a 30 year lull in the action. Starz is taking the exciting world that gave us three Evil Dead films and re-sizing it for the small screen and we’ve got some of the first images from the set.

Hey guys, Jana here,

american-gods-1

Neil Gaiman is one of those authors that everyone has heard of and most everyone that reads him, likes what they find. I was a little late to the Gaiman party only getting interested in his work in the last few years, the one thing I didn’t read when I began my Gaiman journey was ‘American Gods‘. Oh mon dieu! I corrected the error of my ways after our Editor-in-Chief, Bryan couldn’t believe I hadn’t read it, yet. Ironically, I was putting together an article on books that should be made into film and this was his suggestion.  I spent a weekend with the tome and fell in love and agreement, this book SHOULD have a film counterpart. The universe responded with wish granted.

J.K. Simmons Adds Starz Series To Schedule!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 22nd, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

whiplash-j-k-simmons

J.K. Simmons hasn’t been letting his successful trip to the Academy Awards slow his roll any, he’s one of the busiest guys in the biz with nine projects in various stages of completion. He’s everywhere and it’s glorious. He’s one of the most dynamite actors I’ve seen and he takes on-screen intensity to a whole new level, I mean who wasn’t cringing just a little bit in ‘Whiplash‘ when Simmons‘ Fletcher threw a chair at Andrew’s (Miles Teller) head as he attempted to discern between rushing or dragging the beat? He’s incredible and I adore seeing him on screen, which is a good thing as he’s adding, yet another project to his to-do list.

Hi, Jana here,

girlfriend_experience_ver3_xlg

Steven Soderbergh’s (‘Magic Mike‘, ‘Ocean’s Eleven‘, ‘Sex, Lies & Videotape‘) 2009 film ‘The Girlfriend Experience‘ that starred then-porn-star Sasha Grey and Chris Santos has inspired what will become ‘The Girlfriend Experience‘, a 13-part anthology series Starz has just greenlit. Soderbergh  will work with Philip Fleishman to executive produce the half-hour series which will explore the relationships of the most exclusive courtesans who provide their clients with far more than just sex. These high-price call girls deliver far more than just sex, they offer the girlfriend experience (GFE). Clients wanting a GFE can afford to pay for the prices the service demands. As you would expect, the GFE calls for a more emotional connection than just sexually. These women talk, and genuinely listen, to their clients.

Hi, Bryan Here….

guerrila_per_la_fiction_romanzo-criminale_2

The pay cable channel, ‘Starz‘ is now developing a US adaptation of the Italian gang drama called ‘Romanzo Criminale‘, which was a series in Italy in 2008 that centered around a gang that controls Rome’s heroine trade in the 70s and 80s. This US version will be set in Philadelphia during the late 60s and early 70s, and will chronicle the rise of the gang who attempt to make loads of cash by any means necessary.

Hi, Bryan Here….

It looks like the popular tv series ‘Spartacus’ on the Starz network is coming to and end with its upcoming 3rd season titled ‘Spartacus: War of the Damned’, however don’t fret too much as Starz is looking to make a spinoff series based on Julius Caesar.  The Julius Caesar project will be helmed by Robert Tapert, who was the head honcho on Spartacus and of course in cahoots with Sam Raimi on the ‘Evil Dead’ films.

The Starz Series ‘Party Down’ To Get Its Own Movie?!?!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 28th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Damn this show was fucking hilarious.  It was cancelled way too soon.  Kinda like how ‘Arrested Development’ was cancelled too soon and how there has been talks for what seems like years and years of a film to come.  That is slowly but surely happening, but at a recent ‘Party Down’ marathon at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, the entire cast and creator Rob Thomas told viewers some info on a possible ‘Party Down’ feature film.

‘The Evil Dead’ 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 11th, 2018

Perhaps the best horror film of all time and most certainly the most magnificent cult film of all time that gave us Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi to the world – ‘The Evil Dead‘ from 1981 is truly an extraordinary movie. This super low budget film with tons of gore spawned two sequels, a remake, and even a very successful 3-season tv series on Starz, not to mention countless toys, comics, and video games based off the film. Sam Raimi was just in his 20s when he made this movie with his family and friends, all shot on location in the middle of the woods, much to the chagrin of the actors. They powered through it and it became a huge success with big financing for a movie of this caliber and a winning review from the horror master himself Stephen King.
