The film has already got some A-list talent attached in the form of Leslie Mann (‘The Other Woman‘, ‘Vacation‘), Ike Barinholtz (‘Suicide Squad‘, ‘Sisters‘) and WWE superstar John Cena (‘Sisters’, ‘Daddy’s Home‘).

Every five years it is mandatory that Hollywood releases a coming of age story of teens trying to get laid. Animal House, Porkys, Revenge of the Nerds, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, all the way up to Superbad. Some are classics and some are just a good time at the movies but the formula almost always works. The formula works for Blockers which is a really funny hour and a half with a few new twists to allow the tried and true premise to stand out.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is readying ‘The Comedian‘ for Blu-ray, DVD and digital release May 2. Robert De Niro (‘Goodfellas‘) stars in this film about an aging comedian. Also featured in the film is a star-packed cast all under the direction of Taylor Hackford (‘Ray‘). DeNiro stars with Leslie Mann (‘Knocked Up‘), Danny DeVito (‘Always Sunny in Philadelphia‘), Edie Falco (‘The Sopranos‘), Charles Grodin (‘Dave‘), Cloris Leachman (‘The Last Picture Show‘), Patti LuPone (‘Penny Dreadful‘), Harvey Keitel (‘Bugsy‘), Lucy Devito (‘Leaves of Grass‘) and Billy Crystal (‘When Harry Met Sally‘).

‘How To Be Single‘ hit the box offices just in time for Valentine’s Day which meant the singles crowd could celebrate their love life, or lack thereof, too. Now the Blu-ray and Digital copies will be available for your personal movie collections at the end of May.

“We’re on a pilgrimage to see a moose. Praise Marty Moose!” Those were wise, unearthing words from America’s family man Clark W. Griswold (Chevy Chase) as he trekked his family from Chicago to California inside the Griswold family truckster back in 1983. Clark, along with his wife Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo), and their two kids Rusty (Anthony Michael Hall) and Audrey (Dana Barron) encountered a variety of hilarious obstacles and problems along their difficult road trip, but they stuck together as a family and proved that any American family can make it across country without killing one another…mostly.

I knew there was some gas left in this engine and it looks like the Wagon Queen Family Truckster Station Wagon is rolling on with another sequel. This is going to be the second film in the family of Vacation movies that John Hughes hasn’t written. He passed away in 2009, making the Christmas Vacation his last film in the series. The chain consisting of ‘National Lampoon’s Vacation‘, ‘National Lampoon’s European Vacation‘, follow that up with the holiday staple ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation‘ and finally a last ditch effort to keep the films going with ‘National Lampoon’s Vegas Vacation‘. Legendary 80’s filmmaker and writer John Hughes gave us the characters that filled these movies with some of the most dysfunctional and hilarious characters in film history.
Film Review: ‘The Other Woman’!!

I honestly would not have given this movie a second look. I would not have paid to see it, or rented it, if I had not been asked to screen it for Boomstick Comics. I am so glad I did! We walked in, and from the start, ‘The Other Woman’ was not what I expected. I was so pleasantly surprised. This movie’s plot line is absolutely unbelievable, for sure, but for what it is (a chick flick), it is downright fun.

Writer/director/producer Judd Apatow (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Funny People) brings audiences This Is 40, an original comedy that expands upon the story of Pete (Paul Rudd) and Debbie (Leslie Mann) from the blockbuster hit Knocked Up as we see first-hand how they are dealing with their current state of life. Looks like Apatow is straying a bit away from the toilet humor with each film he makes. This looks very good, however I will miss Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel, Martin Starr, and Jonah Hill in this film. The new 3D stop-motion comedy thriller from animation company LAIKA, reteaming the company with Focus Features after the groundbreaking Academy Award-nominated “Coraline.” “ParaNorman” is, following “Coraline,” the company’s second stop-motion animated feature to be made in 3D. In “ParaNorman,” a small town comes under siege by zombies. Who can it call? Only misunderstood local boy Norman (voiced by Kodi Smit-McPhee), who is able to speak with the dead. In addition to the zombies, he’ll have to take on ghosts, witches and, worst, of all, grown-ups, to save his town from a centuries-old curse. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits.

Albert Brooks has just recently joined the cast of the Judd Apatow’s new film which will be a sort of a sequel or follow up to “Knocked Up” The story focuses on Paul Rudd’s and Leslie Mann’s married characters from “Knocked Up”.

The 2013 Sundance Film Festival is in full preparation mode as it will start January 17-27 and will showcase 113 featur length films, which 98 of them are premieres from over 32 countries. Here is the full list of films that will be shown in all competitions as well as the non competition films. Hopefully it won’t be too terribly cold in Utah this year. Some of these films look AMAZING!

A decent week for releases. And on time this week for the most part. A few hours late, but all is well. Okay, so let us jump right in and get to all the goodies.
