Daniel Radcliffe Wows In Trailer For ‘Imperium’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 6th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

MV5BMTk3Njg1NzQxMV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzg3NjUzOTE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,648,1000_AL_

Daniel Radcliffe may have began his acting career by stepping into our hearts as the boy wizard Harry Potter, but he’s not limited as an actor. He’s got range and he’s showing that off with ‘Imperium‘. He takes on a convincing American accent and I can’t wait to see this one! Co-starring Toni Collette and Burn Gorman with Sam Trammell. We’ve only got to wait until August 19.

Daniel Radcliffe Goes Off-Broadway in ‘Privacy’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 12th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

48450249.cached

Everyone’s favorite wizarding boy genius has developed a love for performing, sometimes on film and sometimes he prefers to hit the boards in a stage show. Daniel Radcliffe has chosen the latter for his latest project, ‘Privacy‘, to show at the Public Theater, an Off Broadway company that has recently hosted several other big names in Hollywood, Lupita Nyong’o, Claire Danes and Anne Hathaway. Not to mention it’s where the crazy-awesome ‘Hamilton‘ held its debut. On a side note, if you’ve not checked out ‘Hamilton‘, at least get the soundtrack, it is the very definition of epic.

Hey guys, Jana here,

swiss-army-man-poster

One of the things I love about the Sundance Film Festival, besides giving Kevin Smith the filmmakers trophy for ‘Clerks‘, is all the new films that get a spotlight put on them, ‘Swiss Army Man‘ falls directly into that category. ‘Swiss Army Man‘ was awarded the Directing award and nominated for the Grand Jury Prize.

Hey guys, Jana here,

bill_paxton_daniel_radcliffe_split

Most everyone is familiar with the game ‘Grand Theft Auto‘. It encourages the player to immerse themselves into a fantasy, criminal underworld where jacking cars is a necessity and shooting rival gangsters, cops, or prostitutes is fair game. When you have a game that envelops that kind of violence, it naturally draws opposition. That opposing voice comes from parents being concerned about the content their children are absorbing, it comes from politicians pandering to the voters while touting negative values as a direct result of exposure to GTA. Each of those voices has one thing in common, their desire to ban the game.

Radcliffe and Caplan Cast In ‘Now You See Me 2’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 4th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

now-you-see-me-gallery1

Now You See Me‘ was was a 2013 film that featured four magicians answering a mysterious summons that sets the stage for their later roles as The Four Horsemen who manage to pull off a real-time robbery during a stage act. This leads to an investigation by FBI and Interpol agents. I was impressed with the movie, it was a new story with a twist, very original.

Favorite Films of 2016!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 30th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

blake-lively-and-the-shark-the-shallows-39717776-1000-544

The end of 2016 is here, which means everyone’s Top 10 list is out already or getting ready to be released. I’m not going to do a Top 10 in order again this year, because there are just so many amazing films I feel so passionate about, that it is difficult to rank them. If you think this is a weak year of films, then you are surely mistaken. I will say that most of the big budget blockbusters this year were duds, but the indie films were nothing short of amazing. So below is the list of films that I truly loved this year. These films will be ones that I watch over and over again, and you should to. I watched 254 films that were released this year (Yes, I counted) and survived to tell the tale. As always, please let me know if any of your favorite films made my list. Enjoy!

You can CLICK the titles of each movie where you can purchase the Blu-rays too. Hooray!

Film Review: ‘Swiss Army Man’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 28th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

thumbnail_24201

There are only a few times a year where a movie completely catches you off guard and there are fewer times where a movie will be imprinted and branded into your mind forever. ‘Swiss Army Man‘ is one of those films. It’s funny, disgusting, beautiful, and simply amazing on just about every level. This is where cinema is at its best. Director and writer pair Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (knows as Daniels) have masterfully crafted a screenplay and beautifully shot film that that covers just about every aspect of being alive and human. It’s almost a coming-of-age story in a weird sort of way and is full of pure, amazing life, even though there is a corpse throughout the entire film. This movie takes those small, precious, awkward moments in life and puts them flat on the table for everyone to see. It’s a little bit gross and weird, but it’s also amazing and beautiful. I don’t think any two people could have played the two parts any better than Paul Dano or Daniel Radcliffe did. They are simply phenomenal in their roles and bring such a heartfelt performance to each of their characters, that you can’t help but want to spend more time with them.

Hey guys, Jana here,

you-see-me-2-01

I loved, Loved, LOVED ‘Now You See Me‘! I’ve been ecstatic about the sequel for so long and am thrilled I can share the trailer with everyone. Of course, one of my favorite things about the first film was the inclusion of Isla Fisher, alas her pregnancy got in the way of production this time around and Lizzy Kaplan (‘Mean Girls’) stepped in to fill that void. She’s by no means the only new blood the film is seeing, Daniel Radcliffe joined the cast and the end result, at least the trailer, is phenomenal!

The ‘Now You See Me 2’ Trailer Is Full of Magic!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Nov 18th, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

nowucme2

Now You See Me‘ was a really clever, entertaining film, kind of our generation’s ‘Ocean’s Eleven‘, not that one, the first one with Sinatra, Deano and Sammy. It was genius, so I was excited for a sequel and now that we’ve seen the trailer. This one stars Michael Caine, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Daniel Radcliffe and Mark Ruffalo among others. I’m anticipating the release date, which is all the way in June, but this trailer might hold me over.

James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe star in the highly anticipated reimagination of one of the most classic stories pen ever put on paper, ‘Victor Frankenstein‘. In this re-telling, McAvoy stars as the legendary and radical scientist Victor Frankenstein while his equally brilliant protégé Igor Strausman (Radcliffe) shares in the good scientist’s noble vision of aiding humanity through their groundbreaking research into immortality.

Harry Potter Returning, But Who Will Play Him?!??

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 1st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

5285__benedict-cumberbatch_-an-edit-a-day-benedict-cumberbatch-396-

If you’ve missed Hogwarts as much as I have, prepare to contain the squeals of joy that will undoubtedly emit from the deepest spot in your soul when you read the next line. BBC is producing a Harry Potter story unlike we’ve ever seen before. The plan is to have a two hour movie that takes place after the main characters we’ve loved so much have left Hogwarts. Remember at the end of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2‘ when we saw our heroes later in life all taking their kids to the train station to begin their school careers? THAT is where this film will pick up!!!

In the land of remakes, there is one bright spot that hasn’t been touched, yet. Yet is the key word in that sentence. The iconic film ‘The Crow‘, Brandon Lee cemented his popularity with his portrayal of Eric Draven, the tragic hero of a dark film that, at it’s heart, is a vigilante tale. Director Corin Hardy (‘The Hallow‘) is planning to remake the film, which has a loyal cult following, and he has already cast his Eric.

Apatow has really evolved as a filmmaker since ‘The 40 Year Old Virgin‘ in telling better and more personal stories of relationships, but still having those hilarious dick jokes and gross-out gags to make us belly laugh.

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 6th, 2015

It’s been a long while since I’ve done a Blu-ray column for the site. Hell, it might be two years since the last Blu-ray release column was released here. But I figure since it’s 2015 and there aren’t any apocalyptic scenarios or a rat infestation in the house yet, so now must be as good a time as any to start this fun column back up. As usual in this article, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a picture-link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and bizarre tales. So click on the pictures and start saving.

Film Review: ‘Horns’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 29th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Horns Movie Picture (6)

Horror movie filmmaker Alexandre Aja has given us quite a few gems over the past decade, which include the French film ‘Haute Tension‘ and the American remake of ‘The Hills Have Eyes‘. Needless to say, he has made his own unique impact on the horror genre. But where those films tend to be the straight-in-your-face horror films with tons of blood and guts, Aja has transitioned into something with a bit more depth that what he is used to with ‘Horns‘, which is based on Joe Hill’s (Stephen King’s son) novel of the same name.

Jana’s Film Review of ‘Horns’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 28th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

Horns-Character-Posters-Revealed

Daniel Radcliffe has distanced himself from the boy wizard he used to be and kicked type-casting in the teeth. He’s taken the theater world by storm appearing nude for ‘Equus‘, he’s led the show singing and dancing in ‘How To Achieve In Business Without Really Trying‘. From there he’s added to his film resume with the creepy ‘The Woman In Black‘, he was cast as Alen Ginsberg in ‘Kill Your Darlings‘ that was taken from true events. Radcliffe was paired with Jon Hamm to play the younger doctor to Hamm’s older doctor in ‘A Young Doctor’s Notebook‘, and grew horns from his head for the aptly titled ‘Horns‘.

Film Review: ‘What If’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 7th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

1399576261_what-if-640

I was very excited to see this new romantic comedy ‘What If‘, starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan, and Adam Driver. I even might have mentioned that it had one of the funniest trailers I had seen in a while, which you can see below. ‘What If‘ answers or at least tries to answer that age old question, “Can a man and a woman just be friends?” This concept is definitely not new and has been seen many times before, specifically in the hit comedy ‘When Harry Met Sally‘, which starred a young Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan.

You Must Watch The ‘What If’ Trailer!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 3rd, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

What-If-600x650

Mark the movie ‘What If‘ at the top of my list of movies to see this year. This trailer is great. ‘What If‘ is a romantic comedy starring Daniel Radcliffe (‘Harry Potter’), Zoe Kazan (‘Ruby Sparks’), Adam Driver (‘Girls’), and Rafe Spall (‘Hot Fuzz’). It’s a story we’ve seen before, but this looks like it’s done perfectly. Basically, Radcliffe plays Wallace who falls in love with a new girl named Chantry (Kazan), but quickly finds out she has a boyfriend. So it’s kind of a wrong-place, wrong-time type scenario.

Hello Jana here,

Max Landis

Script writer Max Landis is a common denominator with several projects that are either in production or pre-production. In the wake of 2012’s ‘Chronicle‘, we find Landis’ name attached to at least 5 projects that are slated for release in 2015. the highly anticipated ‘Frankenstein‘ which will star James McAvoy as the titular Dr. Frankenstein and in a strange casting turn, Daniel Radcliffe is set to star as Igor. Another screenplay Landis has written is making some noise with a new casting choice.

Here Come The Minions!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 16th, 2014

Jana B., Here…

minion

If you’re disappointed that you won’t get to see the cute, quirky, 3 fingered minions from the ‘Despicable Me‘ movies before the third installment of the crazy popular ‘Despicable Me‘ series on June 30, 2017, I have fantastic news! Illumination Entertainment with Universal Pictures announced the 3D CG animated comedy, ‘Minions‘! Slated to release on December 19, 2014, we also know who two of the stars will be. Jon Hamm, crazy popular as Don Draper from ‘Mad Men‘ and Sandra Bullock, (‘Gravity‘, ‘The Blindside‘). Bullock is voicing the Audrey-Hepburn-esque Scarlet Overkill, as dangerous as she is fashionable, and bent on world domination. Hamm is voicing Scarlet’s husband as inventor, Herb Overkill. The film sees the faceless many minions competing to be a henchman for Overkill.

Film Review: ‘Kill Your Darlings’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 14th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

 KYD

Over the past couple of years, we have had a string of films based on the Beat Poet generation that spawned writers and poets Allen Ginsberg, William Burroughs, and Jack Kerouac. Some have been documentaries, some have been narratives on their successful careers, but none have covered the in depth time period where all of these writers met in college and were part of a murder. First time feature filmmaker John Krokidas knocks it out of the park with his jazzy, drug induced opus that is called ‘Kill Your Darlings‘.

Ever hear of two things that shouldn’t go together but end up working? A bit of chocolate in your homemade chili, Kevin Youkilis  as a Yankee, Catherine ZetaJones and Michael Douglas? OK, well maybe not them so much, anymore, but you get my point. ‘American Psycho‘ – the book by Bret Easton Ellis that made a 2000 movie with Christian Bale, evolved into a musical? Yup, you read that one right. Off-Broadway theater company, Second Stage is going to present the U.S. premiere. This has been discussed and debated, but ultimately it’s happened and coming to America next!
