Hi Bryan Here….

J. Edgar explores the public and private life of one of the most powerful, controversial and enigmatic figures of the 20th century. As the face of law enforcement in America for almost fifty years, J. Edgar Hoover (Leonardo DiCaprio) was feared and admired, reviled and revered. But behind closed doors, he held secrets that would have destroyed his image, his career and his life.

Clint Eastwood and Warner Bros. have decided to premiere their ‘J.Edgar’ film at the AFI Film Festival on November 3rd to open up the festival.  Many have thought ‘J. Edgar’ would premiere at an earlier film fest, but sadly it has not made any of the lists until now.  ‘J. Edgar’ is slated to open nation wide just a few days later on November 9th.

Hi Bryan Here….

DiCaprio and Beyonce To Star Together In A Clint Eastwood Film?!?!  That is a sentence I never thought I would type or say in my entire life.  But it is quite possibly to come true.  Eastwood is still planning on remaking the classic film ‘A Star Is Born’ with Beyonce.  But right now, Eastwood is hard at work on his current project ‘J. Edgar Hoover’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Clint Eastwood is making a Horror/Thriller Movie

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 12th, 2010

Badass clint Eastwood is currently hard at work on his new movie called “Hereafter”. It is currently slated to come out in October near Halloween. I am very curious to see how Clint takes on the supernatural thriller genre.

Matt Damon, Jay Mohr, and Bryce Dallas Howard are starring in the film.

The film synopsis according to Warner Bros. is: “Hereafter” tells the story of three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. Matt Damon stars as George, a blue–collar American who has a special connection to the afterlife. On the other side of the world, Marie (Cécile de France), a French journalist, has a near–death experience that shakes her reality. And when Marcus (Frankie/George McLaren), a London schoolboy, loses the person closest to him, he desperately needs answers. Each on a path in search of the truth, their lives will intersect, forever changed by what they believe might—or must—exist in the hereafter.”

Sounds great doesn’t it.  Click HERE to see the trailer in glorious quicktime.

Let me just say that Clint Eastwood is a badass.  He is one great actor.  Might be one of the greatest actors of our generation.  Not to mention he is one hell of a damn fin director as well.

In a recent interview Clint tells us that he was offered some cool movie roles.

He said, ““I can remember – and this was many years ago – when [Warner Bros. President] Frank Wells came to me about doing Superman. So it could have happened. This was when they first started to think about making it. I was like, ‘Superman? Nah, nah, that’s not for me.’ Not that there’s anything wrong with it. It’s for somebody, but not me. ”

“I was also offered pretty good money to do James Bond if I would take on the role. This was after Sean Connery left. My lawyer represented the Broccolis,” who produce the Bond franchise, “and he came and said, ‘They would love to have you.’ But to me, well, that was somebody else’s gig. That’s Sean’s deal. It didn’t feel right for me to be doing it. ”

“I always liked characters that were more grounded in reality. Maybe they do super things or more-than-human things — like Dirty Harry, he has a knack for doing crazy things, or the western guys — but, still, they’re not caped crusaders.”

Oh my God!  Just thinking of Clint Eastwood as Kal-El blows my mind or even 007.  So Cool!

‘The Mule’ – 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 27th, 2019

THE FILM

For the first time in more than a decade, Clint Eastwood is back starring in his own directorial effort called ‘The Mule‘, which is based on a true story about a man named Leo Sharp, who was a down-on-his luck elder man who became a very successful drug runner for the Mexican cartel. It’s a rather interesting story that had some trouble being made into a film. At one point, Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) was attached to write and direct the film, but over the course of a year or so – Clint Eastwood became involved and the rest is history. Fletcher is still credited as Executive Producer here. Eastwood tells this story with a very subtle sense of suspense. There was never any point where I felt his character was in danger or something bad was going to happen. It’s the opposite of something like ‘Breaking Bad‘ in the suspense department. Still, there is an elegant quality to Eastwood’s filmmaking that makes this story worth your while.

Film Review: The Beguiled!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 29th, 2017

Audrey E., here….

beguiled-trailer-37738af4-c7dd-4053-b704-a03437a0cc1d

The Civil War is rooted deep in the fibers of U.S. history, and there’s an evident fascination in both literature and film with the American lifestyle now gone with the wind. Retellings of war classics never seem to go out of style, so it’s no surprise that over forty years after the release of its 1971 predecessor starring Clint Eastwood, ‘The Beguiled’ is being reintroduced to a new generation. Comparisons to the original inevitably lingered over her shoulder, but Director Sofia Coppola (The Virgin Suicides, Lost in Translation) gives the film a fresh, female perspective and garnishes it with her excellent use of lighting, smart casting and artistic framing.

In the grand tradition of Hollywood running out of original material, I present to you the next title up for bastardization…err remake – ‘Every Which Way But Loose‘. It’s not even that it’s only classics or pivotal movies that are getting remade, they’re going after the guilty pleasures, late night cable offerings that played for months at a time and we watched 7 or 20 times during the summer.

Film Review: ‘Sully’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 8th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

sully_still

We all remember what took place in New York on January 15th, 2009. Pilots Captain Chelsey ‘Sully’ Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles took an Airbus A320 with 155 passengers aboard out of LaGuardia Airport to their destination. However, a couple of minutes after takeoff, a freak accident with a flock of birds took out both engines of the airplane, leaving the Airbus without any power and no airport immediately in range to land. Making a calculated decision to save everyone’s life, Sully was forced to land the plane in the very cold waters of the Hudson River.

Hey guys, Jana here,

the-lobster-colin-farrell1-600x333

The 1971 Clint Eastwood flick, ‘The Beguiled‘ is heading towards a remake by director Sofia Coppola. But who do you replace Clint Eastwood with? Dirty Harry has a unique presence on-screen and he’s not so easy to replace, but it is possible to do, as the Coen’s discovered with 2010’s ‘True Grit‘. Jeff Bridges won’t be the go-to for Eastwood’s role, but Colin Farrell is stepping into Eastwood’s amputee boots.
