THE FILM

For all the comic book fans around the globe, we live in a great time of moviemaking. Over the past decade, we’ve seen Hollywood take the superhero genre by storm, releasing comic book movie after comic book movie with A-list stars, talented directors, and epic budgets to bring our childhood heroes to life on the big screen. This successful genre has even garnered many awards, as well as numerous television shows on almost every network. It shows no signs of slowing up. Marvel has paved the way for superhero franchises, building on each superhero character that culminated into the ‘Avengers‘ movies, showcasing each superhero across the other superhero movies, providing a big bridge to gather all stories together. It’s been an  excellent financial and critical success.

‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Rated R?!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 24th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

how-much-extra-footage-do-you-expect-will-be-shown-at-the-imax-screening-365533

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ has received a new MPAA rating, this time as an R rating. No, this is NOT for the theatrical version, but rather as an option for the home video under the title “Ultimate Edition” when it completes its theatrical run. It’s disappointing that we won’t get to see that kind of violence on the big-screen, though.

Hey guys, Jana here,

DC fans have made themselves heard – loudly – on their presumptions of how ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ is going to be. Some are excited, some are…less so. One fan even equated his expectations of Ben Affleck’s Batman to casting Barack Obama as Ronald Reagan. So this film is clearly torn down the middle as far as the fans outlook. We now have a small, slight, tiny peek, so small it can’t even be called a trailer in preparation of the full trailer dropping tomorrow night during ‘Jimmy Kimmel‘, so try, if possible, to reserve judgment.

Check out what we’ve been given and see what you think!

Hey guys, Jana here,

Marvel2

Warner Brothers and DC Comics had the con all to themselves as Marvel skipped this year due to not having enough current projects close enough to completion to show off or warrant a big panel gathering. So the Warner Bros. panel was a standing room only crowd and their anticipation paid off as two big trailers debuted for the fans: ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ and ‘Suicide Squad‘ played to roaring approval.

Well it looks like Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. has an official title for the new Batman/Superman movie, which will be called ‘Dawn of Justice‘. I bet that means Dawn of the ‘Justice League‘, which Warner Bros. has been planning for quite sometime now. The film is set to open up on may 6th, 2016 and production has officially begun.

The official plan to release the ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ trailer this coming Monday, but some dude with a camera phone spoiled those plans and put their shaky, grainy version with Portuguese subtitles out into the interwebs.  Zack Snyder reacted by giving the fans what we want, a peek at the trailer.

Unless you’re living under a rock, you know that one of the greatest events of the year for the modern geek is going on. Yes, indeed, I am talking about Comic-Con. DC Entertainment is celebrating one of the most wonderful creations ever – Batman’s 75th anniversary. They pay homage to the caped crusader with his inclusion on a booth wall montage.

I’ve got an “INCREDIBLE” update for you!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 23rd, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

The Incredibles‘ are making a comeback and Disney released character portraits in the most trendy, pop culture-ish way possible, as selfies matched with their artistic counter-part. Google’s Arts and Culture app has been the new driving force powering social media and everyone is doing it. I even tried to get a match on my dog, Duke, aka John Wayne, but there’s not recognition for pets, yet. Along with the images of the voice actors, we see stylized artwork of their on-screen persona, and it’s awesome to see anything coming from Disney Pixar about the upcoming sequel. But that’s not all they’ve given us. We get four new images, but we also get some plot details!

Warner Bros. and DC have been tossing the turd that was ‘Green Lantern‘ around since 2011, wondering how and where do they go from here? Well, David Goyer may turn out to have the saving solution, write a new script and move forward.

4K UHD Review: ‘Suicide Squad’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 13th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

THE FILM

There seems to be a good movie hidden somewhere in ‘Suicide Squad‘, but the film itself makes it nearly impossible for you to find where those good moments are. The film is its own worst enemy, because it promises something new and fresh in the first dozen or so minutes, but then nose dives into the mountain from there on out. This is certainly writer/director David Ayer’s most ambitious project and I can’t tell if it’s his mistake or the collection of DC/Warner Bros. executives who forced the notes on him to make this film not succeed, because again, the first part of the movie gathers your hopes up for something fun. Ayer wrote ‘Training Day‘ and ‘U-571‘, then transitioned into directing with ‘End of Watch‘ and ‘Fury‘, which were both new and fresh takes on tired genres. I was hoping that Ayer could breathe new life and put the DC Comic movie franchise on the right track, but alas, that is not the case.
