by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 15th, 2018

John Landis is one of those filmmakers that comes along once in a lifetime. The director has made some of the most iconic and most memorable motion pictures to ever grace the big screen. With films like ‘Animal House‘, ‘An American Werewolf in London‘, ‘Three Amigos‘, ‘Spies Like Us‘, ‘Coming to America‘, ‘Trading Places‘, ‘Blues Brothers‘, ‘Michael Jackson’s Thriller‘, and more are some of the films that came from John Landis.

It was a ton of fun to talk with Landis about his views on film, meeting Stanley Kubrick, working with Steven Spielberg, his knowledge of motion pictures, working with Michael Jackson and Eddie Murphy, and his love of pro-wrestling.And don’t forget to visit iTunes and Stitcher to subscribe to our podcast. Martin Ward:
[in French] Are you able to determine...
Jeff:
[in French] The height he fell from? Depends on the speed of the helicopter.
David Bouchard:
[in French] Who said anything about a helicopter?
Jeff:
[in French] Me, I could've sworn I just said helicopter. You see, an airplane goes too fast. He'd be cut in two, without your help. A failed parachute would still be attached. Hanglider straps are too complicated. You really have to want to kill yourself. The air-balloon festival hasn't started yet. If it was a stork, he would've been caught in a 46-year traffic jam. So, helicopter. But to reply to your question, 80 metres max. Or 236 feet, 4 and 7/8s inches for you. An inert body in free fall goes at 30 metres a second. Looking at this mess, I'd say a minimum of 25 and a max of 80. My feeling is that it's not 60. At 30 meters a second, the fall would take exactly 2 seconds. And that's too round a figure. I just don't feel it. Nothing in life should be so precise. Maximum 80 metres.
