Hi everyone, Bryan here…

Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer are the guys mostly known for bringing spoof movies to theaters. They are responsible for the ‘Scary Movie‘ franchise, ‘Epic Movie‘, and ‘Vampires Suck’ to name a few. It was only a matter of time before they got their hands on the ‘Star Wars’ franchise. It’s just so unfortunate that Mel Brooks wasn’t the first on this front to do another ‘Spaceballs‘, which is what we all really want. Well, Friedberg and Seltzer are set to start filming their ‘Star Wars‘ spoof this Fall, titles ‘Star Worlds Episode XXXIVE=MC2: The Force Awakens The Last Jedi Who Went Rogue‘.

Yes, it’s that long of a title. I did enjoy the ‘Scary Movie‘ franchise, but was not a fan of ‘Epic Movie‘ or any of the other spoofs from these guys. It was more on the verge of being silly just to be silly, and void of any story or character, unlike ‘Spaceballs‘, which still holds up after all these years. I hope the Wayans Bros. come into the picture here somewhere, because with their brand of humor and comedy, I think this ‘Star Wars‘ spoof could be quite fantastic. According to THR, Covert Media’s CEO Paul Hanson is producing the film alongside Broken Road Productions’ Todd Garner. Covert Media also is financing the project, and launching worldwide sales in Berlin.

“Jason and Aaron are a powerhouse duo who have proven time and time again that they are fully tapped into the what audiences love,” said Hanson. “Their fearless take on pop culture has us beyond thrilled to tackle the world’s most popular franchise with the two of them leading us into a galaxy far, far away.” Let’s hope for the best here.
