Hosting the Oscars is always a big gig and sometimes they get it right, other times it falls flat. However, in the category of “getting it right”, let me introduce the host for 2017, Jimmy Kimmel.

This year Kimmel hosted the Emmy Awards and that was regarded a success, so bringing him over to the Oscars seemed a no-brainer. One thing that may have helped grease the wheels in Kimmel’s direction is the partnership between ABC and the Film Academy and their agreement to solely air the Academy Awards through 2028. However, the new producers, Jennifer Todd and Mike De Luca, say Kimmel was always the front-runner, anyway.

Tune in for the Super Bowl of movies on February 26.
