Sega titles are making their way to adaptations on film, television and digital projects. Some of the properties getting the makeover are ‘Shinobi‘, ‘Altered Beast‘, ‘Golden Axe‘, ‘Virtua Fighter‘, ‘The House of the Dead‘, ‘Streets of Rage‘ and ‘Crazy Taxi’. Another game to be added to the renovation list is ‘Rent A Hero‘.

The project is coming from Stories International Tomoya Suzuki and filmmakers Steve Pink (‘Hot Tub Time Machine‘) and Jeff Morris writer for ‘The True Memoirs of an International Assassin‘. The story follows a slacker genius who joins a high-tech start-up that is pitched as company to improve people’s lives but is nothing as it seems. When company insiders plan to weaponize the technology, the slacker and his fellow ‘Rent A Heroes’ must band together to stop them.
