Sookie’s back! No, I’m not talking about the sweet vampire magnet portrayed by Anna Paquin in ‘True Blood‘. I’m talking about Sookie St. James being played by the absolutely perfect Melissa McCarthy!
Netflix has been putting together a ‘Gilmore Girls‘ reunion for a few months now and as the original stars kept checking into the revival, one name has been mysteriously absent and that was McCarthy’s, until now!
McCarthy made the announcement on an episode of ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ that will air today. Showrunner Amy Sherman-Palladino and McCarthy have both made public statements about McCarthy’s involvement that had us all thinking there wouldn’t be an appearance from our favorite Stars Hollow chef. So glad that worked itself out and we can look forward to an amazing return cast! Those signed on to return are Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, Scott Patterson, Rose Abdoo, Sally Struthers, Milo Ventimiglia, David Sutcliffe, Jared Padalecki, Matt Czuchry, Liza Weil, Sean Gunn, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Danny Strong and Vanessa Marano.
They’re all there, family, old boyfriends, best friends, roommates, eccentric townspeople, this show will have it all! Netflix is keeping mum on the release date, but wherever they go, I’ll follow.
