Another ‘King Kong’ Movie is in the Works!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 26th, 2014Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
Legendary Entertainment announced today at Comic Con in San Diego that they will be releasing ‘Skull Island‘, a new King Kong film on november 4, 2016. There was a surprise teaser trailer for the movie, which showed an ancient island and a voice over, comparing the island to the very early days of Earth, complete with strange creatures and giant storms.
Then a voice said, “We penetrated deeper and deeper into the very heart of darkness.” After that, there was a shot of King Kong roaring and looking quite mean. Then Legendary Pictures tweeted, “Prepare to explore the mysterious and dangerous Skull Island. In theaters November 4, 2016.”
I’m a sucker for ‘King Kong‘ films. Besides ‘Army of Darkness‘, the 1933 version of ‘King Kong‘ is my favorite film. And I actually thought Peter Jackson’s remake of ‘King Kong‘ was quite good, despite a few drab scenes. But it looks like Legendary is in the big monster movie business. And that’s okay by me.
Are you ready for another ‘King Kong‘ film?
From the studio’s post-panel release: “Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions.”

we need more details… Is PJ directing. Is Weta doing the special effects. It is the same Kong CGI rendition as the PJ version?

Seriously? All Hollywood can do is comic book movies, rehashes, remakes and reboots.

Seriously? All Hollywood critics can do is decry their lack of originality. Ironic, really.
