Hi, Bryan Here…..

Praise be the zombie gods.  Director/producer Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy/Pan’s Labyrinth) will produce and the talent at Reel FX a CG animated/live action version of ‘Day of the Dead’.  Guillermo will have his hands deep in this project with Jorge R. Gutierrez directing and co-writing the film.  Jorge is a director, painter, and illustrator mainly known for his work on Nickelodeon.  THe project hopes to release late 2014 according to Deadline.

The story centers on a Romeo and Juliet-style love story set against a Mexican “Day of the Dead” backdrop.  “I have admired Jorge’s work for a long time. He has a unique aesthetic and sense of humor. Day Of The Dead offers a perfect opportunity for his sensibilities to shine,” del Toro said. “This is a colorful, vibrant, vital fable that utilizes the animation medium in an incredible way.”

Guillermo Del Toro will no doubt knock us out of our seats with a zombie flick.  I’m very excited about this.  I’m curious to see if they will be fast zombies or slow zombies.  What kind of new, original death scenes will Guillermo think up?  Will Romero make a cameo?  So many questions.
