Even if she didn’t land the starring role, Tate (Doctor Who) will get a recurring role on the NBC series The Office starting in the second half of the season. Her character, Nellie Bertram, will be hired as a special projects manager working directly for corporate. She will be a favorite of the Chairman of the Board (Kathy Bates).

Catherine Tate is brilliant in everything she does, so fans can expect great things. Besides her hilarious and perfect stint alongside David Tennant in Doctor Who, she is also the star of her award-winning BBC series The Catherine Tate Show.

She appeared in The Office at the end of last season, interviewing for the position vacated by Michael Scott (Steve Carell). As only a comedian of her caliber can, she made an impression even in that short time. NBC had to have her for a bigger part.

And aren’t we glad?
