Hi Bryan Here…

In an interview over at Collider…director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead/Scott Pilgrim) was asked by Walking Dead showrunner, Frank Darabont to direct an upcoming episode of the hit zombie show, The Walking Dead on AMC.

If you remember that after the last episode of the first season of Walking Dead was over, it was rumored that Frank Darabont let go all of the writing staff to hire new and fresh talent.  Well this was just a rumor, but Darabont did ask Edgar Wright to direct an episode for season two.  Her is an excerpt of what Wright said about that topic:

“Frank [Darabont] asked me to do a Walking Dead, actually.  But I feel that there’s some subject matter that, like, even though it’d be great — and I love that show:  I actually watched four of the six episodes uninterrupted in one run; it was like zombie Pringles — I think that with something like that, with some TV shows, you wanna be in on the ground floor.”

So he did turn it down and when he was asked why, he states:

“Well, I really enjoyed the first season, and I wouldn’t wanna be the guy that comes in and fucks it up.”

So keeping that in mind, i wonder if any other directors have been asked to guest direct an episode.  Romero, Tarantino, Rodriguez,Boyle??  All would be cool.

Your thoughts?
