Hi Bryan Here….

March is here which means spring is on the horizon.  This also means tons of Oscar nominated and Oscar winning films will be released on home video very soon.  Starting today.  In fact, a few have already been released, but, I’m thinking there will be re-issues with more extras and the titles that read “Oscar Winning” on the cover.  I’m very excited about this week in releases.  Tons of great stuff.

As usual, you will get some info about the disc and the extras that come with the movie as well as a personal opinion about the movie and a link to purchase the film over at AMAZON where you can save quite a bit of money, and it will give a small percentage kick back to this site so we can continue bringing you excellent stories and sales.

Enjoy and Here We Go!!

I wholeheartedly loved this film.  It was brilliantly done in every way.  James Franco showed how diverse and amazing he is as an actor.  You can read my entire review of the film HERE.  And yes somebody did faint during the film in the theater from the hardcore amputation scene.  Amazing.  Pick up this film.  One of the best films of the year.  A shame this didn’t win more awards at the Oscars.  Everything about this film is superb, plus some excellent extras.  The hi-def transfer is beautiful.  A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive.

One of the beloved Disney classics finally on bluray. This is such a great story. Pure soul.  There is not much dialogue in this film at all.  But these characters emit a certain love and heart that you quickly fall in love with them.  This story is heartbreaking yet happy.  This is one of Disney’s best films and I am glad it is on bluray.  Loaded with tons of extras like usual for Disney.

My favorite Jim Carrey film is out on bluray.  This is so comedically dark and twisted.  Ben Stiller directed this film and it is brilliant.  So funny all the way through with tons of quotable lines.  I feel like this film is way underrated.  It is pure comic genius.  A lonely and disturbed cable guy raised on television just wants a new friend, but his target, a designer, rejects him, with bad consequences.  This is the 15th anniversary edition.  Wow 15 years.  I’m old.  Tons of extras.

Pure hardcore exploitation badass fun.  That is what t his film is.  from his prior work like, The Tooth Fairy and  The game Plan.  The Rock Dwayne Johnson plays a no- nonsense, brutal, hardcore fucking killing machine.  He is badass.  Pure fun.  Worth getting.  I hope he makes more films like this rather than The Tooth Fairy.  Great extras on this release.

Excellent Blaxploitation at its finest.  Dr. Henry Pryde (Bernie Casey) is a noteworthy scientist who is working on an experimental remedy for liver damage. Along with his colleague, Dr. Billie Worth (Rosalind Cash), he perfects a serum that has the potential to reverse damaged liver tissue. Pryde also donates his services as a medical practitioner to a free clinic in the Watts projects. Pryde begins a series of unorthodox experiments to test his serum, and uses the serum on himself. The results are disastrous: he transforms into a hulking white-skinned hooker-murdering lunatic.  So great for movie marathons.  Get it.

Everyone’s favorite Saturday morning CGI cartoon.  I remember watching this like clockwork.  i loved this show.  This is crazy sci-fi and great fun all around.  If you have kids who are into the new Tron or recent sci-fi epics, then get them this.  They will love it.  I love this show.  Great to see it again on DVD. Welcome to Mainframe. Home to Guardian Bob, formatted to mend and defend. Join the fast-paced action and adventure as Bob and his friends Dot, her brother Enzo and his trusty dog Frisket fend off attacks from the superviruses known as Megabyte and Hexadecimal in their relentless pursuit of chaos and the destruction of Mainframe.  Known as the very first completely computer-animated half-hour TV series, ReBoot debuted in the United States on ABC’s Saturday-morning block in 1994 and has captured the hearts and imaginations of kids and gamers ever since!

That is it for this week.  Stay tuned for next week for more great releases.
