Sacha Baron Cohen shot to fame with his character “Borat” a few years ago.  You might remember him from “Da Ali G Show” or from the more recent “Bruno” movie where he played an outlandishly gay character.  Also you could have caught a glimpse of Sacha in “Talladega Nights” or “Sweeney Todd”.

Now Cohen has signed on to star as Queen frontman in the biopic of Freddie Mercury.  I think Sacha has a lot of talent in character acting and I am very excited to see him take on a more serious role in this manner.  Kinda like Jim Carrey did with Andy Kaufman in Man On The Moon.

The project has reportedly secured right to such Queen hits as “We Are The Champions,” “We Will Rock You” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.”  I wonder if we will see David Bowie in this picture anywhere with “Under Pressue”?

And don’t forget that Cohen has some singing experience from “Sweeney Todd”.
