Jack White Talks ‘White Stripes’!!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 23rd, 2012Hi, Bryan Here….
Jack White recently talked with the good folks over at NME about his new and first solo album, ‘Blunderbuss’ which is due out April 24th. He also talked about his former band ‘ The White Stripes’ during the interview. There was no good news about that fabled ‘White Stripes’ reunion or ever getting back together.
Classic Waxxx: The Black Keys “The Big Come Up”
by NapkinArt on Nov 25th, 2011As time goes by the albums that have already obtained classic status continue to become greater classics, nay, timeless. Of course, there is also room for more recent albums of late to obtain such status, but some become classics the day of their release, such as The Black Keys’ debut LP “The Big Come Up.”
I thought I take a moment to recognize a really great record from the last ten years into a new segment for Classic Waxxx. It was also an opportune moment to word play on “Black Friday” as well as celebrate the band’s first release, as they ready their seventh and latest LP “El Camino,” which is sure to be a great addition to the rest of their catalog. Record Store Day Black Friday 2011 Delivers Again
by NapkinArt on Nov 21st, 2011
As long as I can remember Thanksgiving has been my favorite holiday. There really is no holiday on the calendar that centers around food and family, and it’s the one day of the year where it is ok to stuff yourself into a food coma. Thanksgiving is also a favorite holiday for many, but many love the holiday because of the shopping day after known as ‘Black Friday.’
The older I get the less inclined I feel to venture out into the crazy public and spend money the day after Thanksgiving, especially since I feelcompletely lethargic after all that turkey and stuffing. But thanks to Record Store Day Black Friday, I again have an excuse to spend some cash on music and perhaps walk off some of those calories. Read the rest of this entry »
New Music: Ryan Adams “Ashes & Fire”
by NapkinArt on Oct 24th, 2011
I know there are several people out there like me who count down the days for new Ryan Adams music. Thankfully, the wait is over as Adams’ latest LP, “Ashes & Fire” is now on the streets.
“Ashes & Fire” is Adams’ first record of new material after a lengthy (according to Adams) two year hiatus, and one that is much more mellow that some of his previous solo efforts. That doesn’t go without saying that the material is second class or fluff, but perhaps the softer approach is Adams easing back into things after taking some time away from music. Tom Waits Brings The Goods On “Bad As Me”
by NapkinArt on Oct 24th, 2011For decades, Rock n’ Roll has been thought of as a young man’s trade; the energy to sustain its demands on the mind, body and soul is no match for the weary. As true as that idea my be, rockers like Tom Waits (now 61), who continues to play by his own rules and charming madness, again goes beyond the borders of his own conventionalism with his 17th studio album, “Bad As Me” now available for the taking.

GEEK DEAL OF THE DAY: Jimi Hendrix ‘Winterland’ LP Box Set!
by NapkinArt on Sep 14th, 2011
It is 8 LPs of sheer 180g awesomeness, and if you don’t believe me, pick up a copy and see for yourself!
The Jimi Hendrix ‘Winterland’ box set hit the streets yesterday, and Amazon definitely has the best deal in town. Originally priced at $100 before its release you can now pick up this gem for about $60 if you act now!!! This price won’t last long!!! Dude, think about it…that’s like buying two records at an Indie store and getting the other six LPs for free. Hell yes. But wait, there’s more! By ordering from Amazon you will also receive an exclusive CD with additional unreleased material, which sounds incredible all on its own.
What is more criminal? This steal of the price or the fact these brilliantly sounding gems have been hidden away from the public all these years?!? It’s time your ears hear this material at a price that would even make your accountant happy. However, if vinyl isn’t your thing (and shame on you if it isn’t) the CD version is available at a great price, too.

There is a New Tom Waits Album on the Horizon!!! Find Out All the Info Here!!!!
by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 24th, 2011Hi Bryan Here….
One of my top two favorite musicians is Tom Waits. He is definitely the coolest guy on the planet. His last album was ‘Orphans: Brawlers, Ballers, and Bastards’ with a live concert album called ‘Glitter and Doom’ from his Glitter and Doom tour. Well he has been hard at work on his new album titled ‘Bad As Me’. I seriously cannot wait for this album to release, which will be October 25th. So not to much longer. Actually you can purchase the single ‘Bad As Me’ for download right now from your favorite digital retailer.
