Hi Bryan Here…

Twenty five years later, ‘Good Morning Vietnam’ still holds up as one  the best films about Vietnam and most certainly one of the top Robin Williams films of all time.  I can’t believe it has been twenty five years.  I actually remember seeing this in theatre with my parents and just loving Robin Williams’ based on real life person Adrian Cronauer.  Over the next couple of years I memorized all of Cronauer’s radio monologues and performed them in front of people at a young age.  I can still recite them to this day.  Needless to say, ’Good Morning Vietnam’  holds a special place in my heart.  And this 25th anniversary bluray is a hit.  Some great extras, and great HD presentations in video and audio.  This is definitely worth picking up.

Bryan Reviews ‘Gia’ Bluray!!! (A Bluray Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 24th, 2012

Hi Bryan Here…..

I can’t believe ‘Gia’ is almost 15 years old.  Angelina Jolie plays to perfection real life Gia Carangi, a girl next door type who works at her family’s diner and then virtually over night is whisked away to become an international super model.  The movie is very solid, due to Jolie’s performance.  This is a story you have heard many times sadly, and HBO brings us this true story in high def.  Jolie’s performance definitely carries this movie.

Hi Bryan Here…..

‘Cannonball Run’ is most certainly an acquired taste.  Much like a fine scotch.  It’s not for everyone.  If you’re a fan of those late 70′s early 80′s silly goofball comedies, than ’Cannonball Run’  is the movie for you.  However, if you aren’t, then this movie will be like nails on a chalkboard.  I will say that it has an amazing cast with the likes of; Burt Reynolds, Farrah Fawcett, Dom Deluise, Roger Moore, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Jackie Chan, Adrienne Barbeau, and Jamie Farr to name a few.  This i movie is a lot of fun if you’re into this sort of thing, and my guess is that like myself, you have seen this over a dozen times.  ’Cannonball Run’  is a zany film to have fun with.

Hi Bryan Here….

‘Dead Poets Society’ is a modern classic.  I loved this film when I saw it back in the late 80′s and I still love it today.  Robin Williams leads an all-star cast….well back then they were mostly unknowns, but today, they are A-List actors, in one of the best coming of age films and one of the best films that takes place at a boarding school. The extras on this disc are great and new HD transfers are really good.  I loved seeing this on bluray it all its 1080p glory.  Definitely worth picking up.

Hi Bryan Here…..

‘Infernal Affairs’ is amazing.  This was the original ‘Departed’ film that Scorsese made.  ’Infernal Affairs’ was made in 2002 with ‘The Departed’  being made in 2006.  Scorsese must have seen this movie when it came out and quickly wanted to make an American version.  And that’s exactly what he did.  ’Infernal Affairs’ is exactly what ‘The Departed is, but made in Hong Kong.  It has a lot of the same scenes, characters, and plot lines.  And this bluray release is quite good.  If you are a fan of ‘The Departed’, then ’Infernal Affairs’ is a film you will love.

Hi Bryan Here…..

I had so much fun with Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Haywire’.  It’s packed with thrills, gun fights, drama, great chase sequences, and some of the best fight choreography I have seen in a long time.  Much like most of Soderbergh’s films, ‘Haywire’ packs a stellar cast including retired MMA fighter and Dallas native Gina Carano (who is our main character).  After watching ‘Haywire’, I quickly wanted more.  There needs to be a sequel pronto and I say this with the upmost certainty; ‘Haywire’ is the new ‘Bourne’ and Carano can take on Matt Damon anytime.

FedMex Reviews Soderbergh’s ‘Haywire’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 18th, 2012

FedMex Here….

So, Steven Soderbergh brings us a slightly convoluted film about a former Marine working for a private company that is hired by the CIA to do secret missions who is betrayed by people and revenge ensues.  Soderbergh is no stranger to the gritty crime drama, and this film hits the nail on the head…mostly, but misses the mark enough to leave me just slightly torn about my feelings for it.

Hi Bryan Here….

That tagline is correct.  This is the ultimate Midnight movie for you and your friends to drink, eat, and watch some of the schlockiest of schlock over a weekend.  You will NOT be disappointed.  With four short films by well respected and twisted horror filmmakers, you will get everything you wanted in a B-Movie fest.  With titles of ‘Wadzilla’, ‘I Was A Teenage Werebear’, ‘The Diary of Anne Frankenstein’, and ‘Zom-B-Movie’, you can expect your mind, body, and soul to to scream with maniacal laughter of all that is ‘Chillerama’.
