Hi, Bryan Here….

poltergiestremake101720125

We’ve been hearing about a ‘Poltergeist‘ project for a while now. Seems like this undertaking has gained some steam and has some heavy hitters behind it now, which will be a reboot of the 1982 film, but also a sequel. Gil Kenan is on board to direct, which his big claim to fame was directing the 3D CG animated film ‘Monster House‘, which was followed by ‘City of Ember‘. But get this, Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Roy Lee from ‘The Evil Dead‘ films will produce this ‘Poltergeist‘ reboot.

Ben Chimes In With His ‘Evil Dead’ Review!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 5th, 2013

Ben K., Here….

Evil-Dead-2013-1

As Fede Alvarez’s remake of the Sam Raimi horror classic came to a close, I heard a guy behind me mutter, “It was just a gorefest.” I resisted the urge to ask, “What exactly were you expecting?” When The Evil Dead came out back in 1981, was it not a gorefest? Was Evil Dead 2 not a gorefest? If by “just a gorefest” he meant that it lacked the humor of the original films, then perhaps he has a point. Gone were the many hat tips to The Three Stooges seen in Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness (aside from the “Fake Shemps” listed in the credits). The “Ashisms” were nowhere to be found until after the credits rolled. Still, for the fans who have been there from the beginning, this was more than a gorefest, indeed.

Check Out the Scary Trailer for ‘Sanitarium’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 19th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

sanitarium600

I can’t wait to see this movie. ‘Sanitarium‘ looks to be a horror anthology in the vein of ‘V/H/S‘ or ‘Creepshow‘. And judging by the trailer, which has Malcolm McDowell narrating, looks very creepy and super good. The segments are directed by different directors consisting of Bryan Ramirez, Kerry Valderrama, and Bryan Ortiz and will last 30 minutes each or so.

‘Zombieland’ to Become a TV Series Through Amazon!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 4th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

original

‘We’ve written about the possibility of a ‘Zombieland‘ sequel before, and even it becoming a tv series, which was the original intention of the original before it became a feature film. Well now, Amazon is looking to develop the new series based on the hit movie. They are in talks right now with Sony for the rights to the project. The project is expected to be a 30 minute comedy horror series with either a pilot episode first or a full on series.  Either way, I’m happy about this.

Did you See That ‘Under the Dome’ Promo??

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 4th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

 under-the-dome-640x386

Last night’s Super Bowl was very interesting. It was a decent game, but the commercials were sub-par this year with the exception of maybe one or two, and the half-time show with Beyonce was one of the fucking worst things I’ve ever seen or heard. However, the movie trailers were kick-ass, so there’s that. However, one promo had me very giddy.  I’m of course talking about the creepy and interesting trailer for Stephen King’s novel ‘Under The Dome‘. Yes, they are making that into a series, and I can’t wait.

Hi, Bryan Here…

The-Lords-of-Salem

I cannot wait to see Rob Zombie return to original filmmaking with his ‘The Lords of Salem‘, which comes out April 26th.  Is it me, or are a few horror films coming out in April?  From Zombie’s Facebook page, he showcased some new movie stills from his upcoming horror film. This looks good and stars the usual cast from most of Zombie’s movies including his wife Sheri Moon Zombie, Ken Foree, and a few other surprises.

Hi, Bryan Here….

evil-dead-2013-remake-red-band-trailer

Here is yet another trailer for a film I would pay $1 million dollars to see right now.  This is a green band trailer, meaning it is suitable for audiences and less violent than the red band trailer we posted a couple of weeks ago, which you can view HERE.  While not as much gore, this trailer is still scary as all hell and made me want to hide under the covers and scream in the fetal position with my thumb in my mouth.  Plus, it has some new footage too that we haven’t seen yet.  I can’t wait to see this, and this film’s premiere at SXSW this year might be the only reason I want to head down there.  Enjoy the trailer below.

Hi, Bryan Here…

DSC_1006b

I’m very excited that they are making a sequel to ‘V/H/S’.  I really liked the first one, which you can read my review of it HERE.  I’m so jealous that this sequel will premiere at Sundance this week and I won’t be there.  This teaser trailer is a big tease, but we do see some pretty creepy stuff happen, and just like the first film, it will be an anthology movie with several different segments directed by famous horror directors.

Check Out the Trailer for ‘The Last Exorcism 2′!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 9th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

16660_546230575387459_839422834_n

Now we have a trailer.  Last week, we had the poster.  So instead of the found footage angle, we get a straight narrative film and it looks decent enough.  I really enjoyed the first film a lot, and I hope they will have the same momentum with this sequel.  Hopefully this doesn’t go the way ‘Blair Witch‘ did, because these two sequels are very similar in terms of style.  Whatever the case may be, I’m up for another exorcism and Eli Roth does some good producing.

Film Review: ‘The Collection’

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 30th, 2012

Suzanne L. Here….

Looking for the perfect holiday movie to enjoy with the kids? Yeah, this is not it. The Collection is the story of a demented serial killer, The Collector, who truly enjoys killing and torturing in the most gruesome ways possible. If you are a fan of gore porns like the Saw series, you’ll want to check this out, but it’s not a truly scary movie.
