 Peter Berg is officially directing Damon Lindelof’s HBO drama pilot “The Leftovers”, which is based off Tom Perrotta’s 2011 book. Not only that, but Berg and producing partner Sarah Aubrey will be executive producers in the pilot with Lindelof, Perrotta, Ron Yerxa and Albert Berger.  It will follow the people who did not make it through the rapture in a world that is forever changed.

HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire‘ is still adding new cast members  to make Season 4 a magnificent one. Patricia Arquette, member of the Arquette acting dynasty, has joined the mob drama in a recurring role alongside Steve Buscemi.  Arquette will play Sally Wheet, a tough Tampa speakeasy owner with connections to local mobsters. This is her first major series return since her seven seasons on NBC/CBS ‘Medium‘.  Season 4 is planned to debut later this year.

 Steve Carell and James Gandolfini can’t seem to get enough of each other. Right of their project ‘The Incredible Burt Wonderstone‘, the two have paired up again for a new comedy. This time it will be on the small screen rather than the big screen. Both Carell and Gandolfini will produce and star in ‘Bone Wars‘ for HBO, which is currently in development.

HBO has renewed GAME OF THRONES for a fourth season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. Based on the bestselling fantasy book series by George R.R. Martin, GAME OF THRONES is an epic story of treachery and nobility set on the continent of Westeros, where summers and winters can last years, and only the lust for power is eternal. The Emmy^®- and Golden Globe-winning series launched its ten-episode third season Sunday, March 31 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), exclusively on HBO, with other episodes debuting subsequent Sundays at the same time.

Brace Yourself.  Winter is Coming this Sunday to HBO as the third season of ‘Game of Thrones‘ begins. The second season of ‘Veep‘ premieres on April 14th and we have partnered with HBO to give away season one on blu-ray to fans, which will be released this coming Tuesday. The bearded guy who has been writing the books ‘The Song of Ice and Fire‘, George R.R. Martin, which the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones‘ has been based on will be on camera as a character in the upcoming third season. Martin has been heavily involved in the last two seasons of the hit show from behind the scenes and producer David Benioff said, “You will see him.”

It looks like ABC is creating a new drama called “Influence” with Christian Slater as Steve Zahn as lead characters. The show is centered around two brothers, Clark (Zahn), a bipolar genius in human psychology, and Ross (Slater) who is an ex con. The both work together to solve their clients problems with real science and manipulation.

Everyones favorite Initech employee has just joined HBO’s ‘Boardwalk Empire‘. I’m of course talking about Ron Livingston who will play Roy Phillips in the upcoming 4th season, which will debut later this year. Philips is a wealthy out-of-town businessman who takes a liking to Gillian Darmondy (Gretchen Mol), who is still reeling from her son, Jimmy’s death.

Good news, everyone! HBO has just signed George R.R. Martin to a two year deal in which he will stay on ‘Game of Thrones‘ as well as develop new projects for the pay cable company. Martin wrote the books ‘A Song of Ice and Fire‘, which one of the books is ‘Game of Thrones‘. Martin has already written several of the episodes of ‘Game of Thrones‘ and season 3 is set to start March 31st.
