HBO unveiled the new trailer for Aaron Sorkin’s new scripted series, ‘The Newsroom’ for HBO.  The series will premiere June 24th on HBO and stars Jeff Daniels, Sam Waterston, Emily Mortimer, Dev Patel, Chris Chalk, Adina Porter, and Olivia Munn.  ”‘The Newsroom’ chronicles the behind-the-scenes events at a fictional cable news channel with an anchor (Daniels), who, together with his staff set out to put on a news show in the face of corporate and commercial obstacles and their own personal entanglements.”

HBO has renewed REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER for its 11th and 12th seasons, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO programming. Currently in its tenth season, the talk show has been picked up through 2014 as part of Maher’s new three-year deal with the network.  “Bill Maher’s irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times,” noted Lombardo. “I’m delighted that we can continue to offer an uncensored forum for his original and thoughtful humor.”

HBO will be offering free programming to two of its newest comedy series, ‘Girls’ and ‘Veep’ on multiple formats.  They will be available for free the day after their debuts on HBO and will only consist of the pilot episodes of both series.  They will be available on HBO.com, YouTube, DailyMotion, TV.com, and multiple distributors’ Free On Demand platforms.

HBO Renews ‘Game of Thrones’ for a 3rd Season!!!

As I reported a couple of weeks ago, ‘Game of Thrones’ has been renewed for a third season on HBO.  The 2nd season opener had amazing ratings and it was only a matter of time before HBO renewed the series.  HBO has renewed GAME OF THRONES for a third season, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.

Hi, Bryan Here….

HBO is working with Ira Glass, Owen Wilson, and Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars Creator) to develop a drama series prompted by the series ‘This American Life’ as heard on NPR.  Rob Thomas is writing the script currently and is calling the project ‘Thrillsville’.  The segment in questions was called ‘Midlife Cowboy’ and is about a guy who is dealing with getting older and has a mid-life crisis and rescues two kidnapped kids from Mexico.
