The Top 26 Film Vehicles!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 27th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Have you ever wanted to own a specific car from a film or television series?  I have compiled a list of my favorite vehicles from films and television series that I want to own someday.  Now, I am excluding spaceships, because that is a whole different list.  This particular list of vehicles all stay on the ground.  It was fun coming up with this list, and I imagine some of you out there actually own these cars or are working on restoring one.  Or just maybe it will give you an idea to make one of these in real life.  Enjoy.

Neil Young “Journeys” (Review)

by NapkinArt on Jul 19th, 2012

The ‘Grandaddy of Grunge’, Neil Young, has been on quite a roll over the last few years,  musically and artistically, releasing several critically acclaimed albums, not to mention finally  releasing the long, long-awaited “Neil Young Archives: Volume 1” to the masses, proving  again and again that ‘rust never sleeps.’ After all, Young is pretty old for a rock and roll star.    However, his love for making music and shredding guitars on stage never ceases to wane, as is  evident in his latest concert documentary film, “Journeys.” Read the rest of this entry »

Bryan Reviews ‘Battleship’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 18th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

I remember playing ‘Battleship’ as a kid. I remember it being a little like chess, requiring determination, logic, strategy, and a bit of fun.  Unfortunately, the film ‘Battleship’ has none of that.  It’s a complete calamity on all levels, with the exception of some incredible special effects.  FACT: ‘Battleship’ has a run time of 131 minutes.  That’s over two hours, folks.  In that span of over two hours (which I’ll never get back), the film failed in storytelling, action sequences, logic, and character development.  The whole film was laughable and made no sense at all.  It’s as if a third grader made the film.  And that’s sad, because I like director Peter Berg.  He’s done some really good stuff like, ‘The Rundown’ and ‘Very Bad Things’.  But with ‘Battleship’, he missed the mark by a good 100 feet.

Hi Bryan Here….

I can only describe my viewing of this film as 104 minutes of nails on a chalkboard.  It was painfully bad.  It’s not necessarily the actors, but rather the entire script, story, and voice acting.  This film has the lowest brow of humor and will probably mostly be enjoyed by five year olds.  The film reminds me of Dr. Dolittle and Night of the Museum in that the exhibits talk and are alive, and humans can hear the animals speak English.  A disaster on all levels.

Hi Bryan Here…

Tango and Cash.  Murtaugh and Riggs.  Turner and Hooch.  Carter and Lee.  And now we will have Jonah Hill and Mark Wahlberg teaming up to add to this ever growing list of Buddy Action Cop Films.  The movie will be called ‘Good Time Gang’ and “follows two party-happy mercenaries who decide to take on a more serious case involving a terrorist, only to find their mission complicated when they discover one of them is related to the target.”

Hi Bryan Here….

If this works, this could be the future of cinemas.  Movie Pass which is in the beta stage will allow an individual see an unlimited amount of movies in a theater for $50.00 a month by using their smartphones as tickets.  Using the application on the phone will allow the subscriber to search for films and theaters, select times, and check in with the designated theater of their choice and go straight to the ticket taker.  Pretty cool huh??

Hi Bryan Here….

Production company Lionsgate has teamed with Kevin Smith and his SModcast pictures company to help distribute his latest and greatest thriller picture, ‘Red State’.  If you remember from Sundance this past year in a what turned out to be joke auction for his film, Kevin Smith paid himself $20 dollars for the theatrical distribution rights for his ‘Red State’.

Hi Bryan Here….

So yes.  I chose to screen this movie.  Before I walked in, I expected an absolute 91 minute eye gouging debacle.  But to my surprise, it really wasn’t all that terrible.  I mean don’t get my wrong.  I do not ever want to see this again, but kids everywhere are going to love this movie.  And it won’t be a bore to the parents either.  ’Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer’ works for kids.  They will enjoy it.
