David Reviews ‘The Bed Sitting Room’ DVD!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 17th, 2012

David, Here….

Firstly, I just want to point out that I enjoy British comedy.  It just has such a different feel than most of what we get on this side of the pond.  So, when I got my hands on this, I was understandably pretty excited despite not knowing anything about the film.  After reading the back of the case and watching the trailer (included on the title screen of the DVD) I was even more excited, it just sounded so absurd!  And… it was.

David’s DVD Review of ‘Halls of Anger’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 12th, 2012

Dave, Here….

I had never even heard of ‘Halls of Anger’ until I popped it into my blu-ray player so I decided to watch the trailer first (the trailer is available on the main menu of the disc, see Extras below).  From the trailer, you get a look at what this movie is going to be about, but it was actually a lot more interesting than I though it was going to be.

Bryan Reviews ‘Young Justice’ Season 1 Volume 2 DVD!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 27th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

From the vaults of DC Comics and Warner Bros. comes ‘Young Justice’, which is a part of the famous Justice League.  This release is the latter part of season 1 boasting four episodes in total.  The animation is really good and I think the younger generation will really take a liking to this new generations of super heroes.  All hail ‘Young Justice’.

Hi, Bryan Here….

The good folks at Warner Bros. have given us all new Scooby Doo episodes under the ‘Mystery Incoporated’ label.  The original first season had twenty six episodes.  This is the second part of the first season, so we get the latter fourteen episodes which is called the ‘Crystal Cove Curse’.  So these are not original cartoon episodes, but rather new ones, and I actually had a good time with them.  I think if you are a fan of the original series, then I suggest you take a look at these.

Bryan Reviews ‘Tom and Jerry: In The Dog House’ DVD!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 15th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Here’s yet another Tom and Jerry release from Warner Bros. that makes me giddy with nostalgic joy.  This is ’Tom and Jerry: In The Dog House’ which has twenty two cartoon shorts featuring the cat and mouse duo along with their sometimes pal Spike the dog.  I’m definitely a fan of Tom and Jerry as I grew up watching them constantly.  They don’t get old or tiresome.  They’re still good for laughs and they do not show their years.  It’s great to have these on DVD.

Hi, Bryan Here….

The third volume of these Fur Flying Adventures are here and they are quite a bit of fun to watch, just like the previous two volumes.  These cartoons still hold up and despite no extras and this not being on bluray, all still seems to be right in the world when there is Tom and Jerry on the screen.  Am I right?

Bryan Reviews ‘Warrior’ DVD!!! (A DVD Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 15th, 2012

Hi Bryan Here….

‘Warrior’ was surprisingly a knock out with me.  I really enjoyed this film.  Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Nick Nolte were all killer in this film.  I was hoping Nolte would get an Oscar nod for his role in this.  And guess what?  He did.  ’Warrior’ was a very inspiring film and sticks with you for a while.  I only wish this film has more push while it was in theaters.  This DVD was packed with extras.  Only wish I had received the bluray version of this.

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

Having not seen Volumes 1 and 2, I considered that I might be a bit confused coming into the plot. However, a review like this can be done by a fangirl like me due to an extensive knowledge of comic book characters and situations. I marched right into Episode 14 of this series without breaking a sweat, and was mildly disappointed to learn that I am not special here – anyone could do it.

Bryan Reviews ‘Luther Season 2′!!! (A DVD Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 2nd, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

I never heard of this series before I got it for review.  But I did know of the actor Idris Eba.  Idris is best known for his role as Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire.  And I must say that other than Stringer Bell, this series ‘Luther’ Elba’s character might be just as good as Stringer Bell.  John Luther is AWESOME  in this self title series.  Sadly, I never saw the first series, but only this second series which is only a very short four episodes.  That’s weird.  And I hear Luther has been renewed for  third season.  They must do things differently over in the UK.  But this is a solid series.  A great dark and adult mystery revolving around psychotic killers.
