Bryan Reviews ‘Luther Season 2′!!! (A DVD Review)
by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 2nd, 2011Hi Bryan Here….
I never heard of this series before I got it for review. But I did know of the actor Idris Eba. Idris is best known for his role as Stringer Bell in HBO’s The Wire. And I must say that other than Stringer Bell, this series ‘Luther’ Elba’s character might be just as good as Stringer Bell. John Luther is AWESOME in this self title series. Sadly, I never saw the first series, but only this second series which is only a very short four episodes. That’s weird. And I hear Luther has been renewed for third season. They must do things differently over in the UK. But this is a solid series. A great dark and adult mystery revolving around psychotic killers.
Bryan Reviews Neil Gaiman’s ‘Neverwhere’ 15th Anniversary!!! (A DVD Review)
by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 1st, 2011Hi Bryan Here…..
Has it been 15 years already? Wow. BBC is re-releasing one of Neil Gaiman’s celebrated works on DVD for its 15the anniversary. I am of course talking about Neverwhere. What is Neverwhere you ask? Well, if you don’t know, then you need to buck up and get off your ass and go out and read and watch this fantastic story. Neverwhere is the pretty much unseen darker “nether” world underground London. This most excellent DVD comes with new extras and surprises for any Neverwhere and Gaiman fan. It rocked my socks clear off.
Bryan Reviews ‘Phineas and Ferb: The Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension’!!! (A Blu-Ray Review)
by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 20th, 2011Hi Bryan Here…..
I am too old for the Phineas and Ferb craze and culture, but I must say that this cartoon movie and the cartoon itself is quite spectacular. Don’t get me wrong. It is silly and stupid, but I can totally see this cartoon on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim line up. It just needs the little push to become a little more raunchy and it will totally have it. Phineas and Ferb I believe started in 2007 and this film ‘Across the 2nd Dimension’ was released earlier in 2011. These crazy characters and hilarious and exciting adventure prove that Disney’s Phineas and Ferb can not only be loved by the young ones, but by teens and adults.
Bryan Reviews ‘Degrassi’ The Complete 10th Season!!! (A DVD Review)
by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 13th, 2011Hi Bryan Here….
I remember watching Degrassi growing up way back when it first started. It has changed quite a bit in its 10th season but the core of the stories are still there. I remember when Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes (Jay and Silent Bob) got involved with the Degrassi franchise. This 10th season had 44 episodes and was previously known as Degrassi: The Next Generation but dropped ‘The Next Generation’ part for this 10th season. This was quite fun to watch, but I’d imagine teens and pre teens would enjoy it more than I did.
Bryan Reviews ‘Dragon’s Lair’ The Complete Series!!! (A DVD Review)
by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 13th, 2011Hi Bryan Here…..
Yes! That Dragon’s Lair from your favorite 80′s video game had a television series. The complete series had a mere thirteen episodes and it focused more on the continuing adventures of Dirk the Daring rather than the plots of the video game. I’ll be honest with you. These brought back tons of nostalgic memories of me playing this video game and it felt good. But the cheesy story plots and average animation made this series difficult to enjoy to the fullest and definitely doe snot hold up in any way shape or form for those of you who might have seen this at an earlier time. But, I will say that if you are a die hard fan of this franchise and love old rare animated shows, then this is a catch.
