Julian Assange Guests on ‘The Simpsons’ as Himself!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 30th, 2012

Hi Bryan Here….

Wiki Leaks founder Julian Assange has a gust spot on ‘The Simpsons’ coming up on February 19th.  This  also marks ‘The Simpsons’ 500th episode.  In the episode,  Marge and Homer go off the grid and find themselves living next door to Assange. “He invites them over for a home movie and it’s an Afghan wedding being bombed,” says producer Al Jean. “There’s nothing we did that has anything to do with the legal situation that he’s in,” Jean says. “We wanted to make sure it was satirical, and he was willing to do that.”

Hi Bryan Here….

Evil Dead 2.  Possibly one of the greatest films ever made.  It has a 98% Fresh rating on rotten tomatoes.  This sequel to the Sam Raimi horror gore fest, is pretty much a re-telling of the first film with a bigger budget and an added humor in the vein of Three Stooges.  This humor and horror mix nicely to bring you one of the best thrill rides of your life.  And let me just say, it seems that they went back to the original negatice of the film and cleaned it all up for this release.  It looks AMAZING.  The best it has ever looked.  This gets my highest recommendation.  Get it.

Hi Bryan Here….

Here is the first casting news from the remake of The Evil Dead.  Yes, to recap, Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell, and Rob Tapert will all be producing this remake.  But a new director, Fede Alvarez, is directing who really hasn’t done anything before, and they hired Diablo Cody (writer for Juno) to pen the script.  Now it seems they have cast their Ash.  And it seems to be a girl according to Bloody Disgusting.

Bryan Reviews ‘Cars 2′ in 3D!!! (A 3D Blu-ray Review)

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 19th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here…..

I liked two things from Cars 2.  It looks really good and crisp.  And Bruce “man-god” Campbell lends his voice to one of the cars.  That’s it.  I don’t understand why Pixar lowered the bar with this one.  Cars 2 actually should have been called “The Mater Show” since the film it 95% about him, which is just terrible on every level.  Maybe it’s because I find Larry the Cable Guy just an untalented guy.  The first Cars film has always been my least favorite of all the Pixar films, but that’s not saying much, because every Pixar film is AWESOME.  AWESOME until this sequel.  However this is one of the best looking Pixar films ever to grace blu-ray.  And the 3D is top notch after the first big scene of the film.  But does that make it worth the buy?  You be the judge.

Hi Bryan Here…..

Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell with Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures are officially prepping the most anticipated film of all time.  I am of course talking about ‘Evil Dead 4′.  And they have landed their their writer and director.  That person is Fede Alvarez.  Fede has not done anything really besides a few short films, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out, but with Bruce and Sam on board as producers, I’m sure it will be quite AWESOME.  I just hope the cast Ryan Reynolds as ASH.  He is perfect for the role.  Story developing….

Actor Zach Braff is in final negotiations to be added to the cast of ‘Oz: The Great and Powerful’ directed by Sam Raimi of ‘Army of Darkness’ fame.  Braff will play the role of Frank, the loyal but under-appreciated assistant to the great and powerful Oz played by James Franco.

Sam Raimi Will Direct “The Day of the Triffids”

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 21st, 2010

One of my favorite directors, Sam Raimi, has signed on to direct the remake of the AWESOME old horror film, “The Day of the Triffids”.  Sam Raimi started out making old horror films by the names of Evil Dead 1 & 2 and Army of Darkness.  He also went on to make the three Spider-Man films. He is a genius when it comes to entertaining an audience and filmmaking.

Oh God I hope Bruce Campbell makes an appearance in this film.  I do not see why he wouldn’t.

For those of you haven’t read the book or seen the old movie, Day of the Triffids is about highly intelligent plants who are brutally aggressive and murderous and who can move on their three like plant legs and communicate with one another and kill humans.  The plants start doing this to the humans after a meteor shower renders all who witnessed the meteors falling to become blind which is like 99% of the population.

I can’t wait to see this.

Movie Quotes

Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005)
John Smith:
How many? Ok... I'll go first, then. I don't keep exact count, but I'd say, uh, high 50s, low 60s. I mean, I know I've been around the block an all, but...
Jane Smith:
312.
John Smith:
What? How?
Jane Smith:
Some were two at a time.
