AMC has started the engine on another project with Robert Kirkman (the creator of Walking Dead). This time the project is titled ‘Thief of Thieves’ which is based on the comic series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. “Much likeThe Walking Dead brought horror to television in a unique and groundbreaking way, I feel Thief of Thieves can do the same thing for heist stories, showing the humanity of all the characters, including the criminals,” said Kirkman.

Thursday May, 30th starting at 11:30 AM, you can attend the ‘Ultimate Marvel Marathon’ at a participating AMC Theater. At 11:30 AM, AMC will show every Marvel Superhero movie leading up to The Premiere of Joss Whedon’s ‘The Avengers’. The ticket price is $40 per person and that gets you six movies. The films include: ‘Iron Man’, ‘Iron Man 2′, ‘Captan America’, ‘Thor’, ‘Hulk’, and ‘The Avengers’.

One of my favorite villains in fiction history is that of ‘The Governor’ from Walking Dead’. Kirkman made him a complex man who is as sadistic as he is crazy. And I have been waiting to see this character come on the small screen on the AMC series. So this tells me, the group is going to finally leave the farm soon, we will meet the badass girl Michonne, and somebody who is a main character will die.

I’m so proud of ‘The Walking Dead’. I was just discussing the other night with friends, that back in 2008, while we were deep into reading ‘Walking Dead’ comics, that we fantasized about a ‘Walking Dead’ series. And back then we thought that it would never become a reality. Why would it? Do people unlike our geek and nerd selves love zombie stories? Are there people out there that have constructed a full on zombie survival handbook on their own? Well, going by the record viewers for this mid season 2 opener, that answer would be YES.

AMC will be in business with some ‘Goodfellas’ in the near future. That’s right, the Martin Scorsese 1990 film ‘Goodfellas’ will be turned into a series for AMC. The series will take place in the general time era that AMC’s ‘Mad Men’ takes place. And Nicholas Pileggi, who wrote the movie based on his non-fiction book Wiseguy, is on board to co-write the TV series adaptation with TV writer-producer Jorge Zamacona (Homicide: Life On The Street). The two will executive produce with the film’s producer Irwin Winkler and his son David.

We don’t have to wait too much longer. AMC’s period drama ‘Mad Men’ will return for Season 5 on March 25th. Series star Jon Hamm let the news slip on Friday’s episode of comedian Doug Benson’s ‘Doug Loves Movies’ podcast. During the long hiatus between Seasons 4 and 5 of ‘Mad Men’ several 50′s/60′s ‘Mad Men’ style shows premiered. One of which got cancelled very quickly, another one is on its way out the door, and the other show will debut soon after the premiere of season 5 of ‘Mad Men’.
