Bryan’s Review of ‘Extraterrestrial’!!!

I didn’t quite know what to expect from Nacho Vigalondo’s ‘Extraterrestrial’, but I was pleasantly surprised with the results. ‘Extraterrestrial’ is a romantic comedy with an ‘Independence Day’-sized alien invasion. That’s the best way I can describe the film. Over its ninety-minute run time, we enjoy the whimsy and follies of a budding new romance, while hundreds of UFO’S enter Earth’s atmosphere. ‘Extraterrestrial’ will make you laugh and warm your heart until the next impending alien invasion.

While I wasn’t a huge fan of ‘Men In Black 2′, this third one actually looks good. Josh Brolin does a spot on impression of Tommy Lee Jones. See, Brolin will play a younger Tommy Lee Jones when Will Smith’s character goes back in time to save the world. One question I have is since we are getting a third ‘Men In Black’ film, will we be getting a 3rd ‘Men In Black’ song by Will Smith? Enjoy the trailer.

I’m very psyched about ‘Prometheus‘. Ridley Scott returning to the ‘Alien’ esque sci-fi realm. Such a great cast and the trailers so far have been great. I hope I can keep myself away from major spoilers of this movie, because I want don’t want to know too much about it before I see it. Enjoy the trailer below.

From the makers of ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘Shaun of the Dead’ comes this AMAZING, thrill ride of a film. Remember the name Joe Cornish. Brand that name into your brain. He is one director to watch for. Cornish made a total geekgasm of a film with ‘Attack the Block’. This is an audience film. You will want to see this with a huge audience and your friends. You will be cheering and yelling throughout the entire film. What an experience. ’Attack the Block’ might be the most fun you will have at the cinemas all year. SEE THIS FILM!!

I’ve been hearing about this film for a long long time. I’m so glad it is finally getting released. The poster looks great so far. Love the tag line and love that it is from the producers of the 2003 version of’ Dawn of the Dead’. Over the July 4th weekend, I had a Kurt Russell marathon at my house and one of the films we screened was Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’. This was the crowd favorite out of the four we all watched.

From now until Sunday, all four Alien films are on sale over at AMAZON at 64% off making each blu-ray $12.49. This is not the big collection set. This is each individual release, which pretty much makes up that set. These are pretty much direct transfers from the collection set, minus a few extras, and the special bonus disc. If you have the collectors set already, then you don’t need these. I suggest if you only want to own the first two Alien films, then this is the way to go. Great prices, and great transfers.
‘Falling Skies’ Gets Second Season!!!

Well the Spielberg produced alien invasion show ‘Falling Skies’ has been doing so well, that TNT ordered a second season already. The two hour premiere had over eight million viewers and the two episodes after that has had an average of 6.4 million total viewers. Plus it has been getting strong numbers and great reception from the overseas markets.

Bryan Deems ‘Super 8′ One Of The Best Films In Recent Years!!!!

There is so much to like about this film. I wish the filmmakers of the current generation would stop for a second and take a good look at ‘Super 8′ and take notes. Everything is there. J.J. Abrams directed ‘Super 8′ with his childhood hero producing….Steven Spielberg. This is what filmmaking used to be like. I know a lot of you will be comparing this film to the likes of ‘E.T.’ or ‘Goonies’. You might say it brings quite a bit of nostalgic feelings from growing up. And to me, that is what makes ‘Super 8′ so amazing.
