Hey guys, Jana here,

wayward-pines

The series ‘Wayward Pines‘ was an unexpected hit for Fox, well it was unexpected from me, not the powers-that-be from Fox. A second season was an undeniably easy move and now our attentions turn to a new series lead in he form of Jason Patric. I don’t care what else he’s been in, he’ll always be from ‘Lost Boys‘ first and foremost in my head.

Harry Potter Returning, But Who Will Play Him?!??

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 1st, 2015

Hey guys, Jana here,

5285__benedict-cumberbatch_-an-edit-a-day-benedict-cumberbatch-396-

If you’ve missed Hogwarts as much as I have, prepare to contain the squeals of joy that will undoubtedly emit from the deepest spot in your soul when you read the next line. BBC is producing a Harry Potter story unlike we’ve ever seen before. The plan is to have a two hour movie that takes place after the main characters we’ve loved so much have left Hogwarts. Remember at the end of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2‘ when we saw our heroes later in life all taking their kids to the train station to begin their school careers? THAT is where this film will pick up!!!

Bloodsport-e1374775984547

Kumite! Kumite! Kumite! I can’t believe it’s been 27 years since the iconic actor Jean Claude Van Damme kicked his way on screen in ‘Bloodsport‘, which was the story of Frank Dux when he entered a full contact underground fight competition. I remember watching this movie at age seven in my Tae Kwon Do class and just thinking this film was the coolest. Well as we all know, this film launched Van Damme to super stardom and went on to star in a ton of action films.

Water slides. Rich stuff. Booby traps. One Eyed Willie. Yes, folks.  We are finally getting a ‘Goonies‘ sequel that we have all been wanting for 20 years. Director Richard Donner and producer Steven Spielberg have just announced they got the green light from Warner Bros. to go forward with a sequel to ‘The Goonies‘.  They have a script already, which was written by Garth Jennings.  Jennings wrote and directed ‘Son of Rambow‘ and the recent ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy‘ film.

This new poster below is all sorts of kick-ass.  It features the beautiful Sofia Vergara as the deadly Desdemona which looks like she has a unique skill. I loved the original one, and I know we live in a perfect world when ‘Machete‘ gets two films. The cast includes: Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demián Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson.

Hi Bryan Here…

So far Arnold Schwarzenegger has agreed to do his “Governator” persona for the kids in the form of comics, a tv series, and a movie.  Add to that the most recently announced “Terminator 5 film.  And in the past, Arnold has talked about finding more appropriate roles for himself for an aging action star.  Well according to Vulture, this is happening sooner than later. The new film it looks like Arnold will be attached to is called “Cry Macho”.

Film Review: ‘Florida Project’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 26th, 2017

The Florida Project is the most important movie of 2017. It is a beautiful look at the resiliency and hope of childhood. It is also the most powerful depiction of a segment of the American population often overlooked in America and certainly passed over in film. Not outright poverty but just a group of people doing enough to survive.

Wrestlemania 34 is less than 6 months away with Survivor Series and Royal Rumble just around the corner. I do believe that the goal is to have Brock Lesnar in the main event at Wrestlemania 34 with the title in hand. I also believe he aims to lose that title on April 8, 2018 as well. Just not to the usual suspects (Reigns, Strowman, Joe).

Written By Bryan Kluger:

THE FILM

(This film review portion was written by Dan Moran.)

The fifth installment of Disney’s nearly $4 billion dollar franchise is a Pirates movie through and through. It is about 20 minutes too long, has a needlessly complex plot, fantastic action set pieces, and way too many characters. I found it to be a real roller coaster viewing experience, where some points I was loving every single second of what was on screen and others I wanted to check my phone to see how much longer was left. There were no scenes in this entire movie that I was just ‘Ok’ with. I was either loving it or tolerating it. When it was all over I was pleased with the ending and, more importantly, that it ended.

Film Review: ‘The Mountain Between Us’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 29th, 2017

Rebecca S., here….

In modern terms, a unicorn is a sought after item of idea that you can never have; a fabled creature and impossible to capture. The perfect date night movie is the unicorn of our times. Speaking in stereotypes, men are said to want comedy, death defying action-adventure, and it would be great if someone got shot or maimed. Women are said to want lighthearted flirting, sincere laughter and a beautiful backdrop in which a woman is swept off of her feet by a gorgeous man. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you The Mountain Between Us. The answer to your date night woes. A unicorn.

Film Review: Dan Dream!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 26th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

From the creative duo that brought us ‘Klovn’ and ‘Klown‘, comes their next twisted comedy with a ton of heart called ‘Dan Dream‘, that tells the true life story of the world’s first electric car. If you’ve ever had the privilege to watch ‘Klown‘, then you know about the off-beat humor of the Danish team Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam have owned since they stepped into the film world. With their silly bodily humor, they still manage to tell engaging and heart felt stories. Dan Dream is no different and has shades of ‘Little Miss Sunshine‘ throughout. Casper and Frank, who also star in the film, have perfectly captured this small moment in history with all its glory and warts in their unique brand of of comedy that includes butts and poop.

Film Review: ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 20th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Matthew Vaughn is back in the director’s chair with ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle‘, the sequel to the hit 2015 action-comedy film that made over $414 million. The ‘Kingsman’ story line was originally written in comic book form from Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) and follows a super secret British spy service that protects the world from various threats. It’s like James Bond, but more fun, more violent, and with more laughs. With sequels, especially in the action world, the words “bigger, better, faster” are usually used everyday on set, in an attempt to out-do the previous movie. That can mostly be said for this sequel too, but with The Golden Circle – – it all works.

Blu-ray Review: The Lion King Signature Series!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 29th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

I remember when this came out in the cinema.  I was totally and utterly infatuated with this film.  I loved everything about ‘The Lion King’. I loved the characters, the animation, the music, and the story.  It was unbelievable when I first saw it at the age of 13.  Now I am almost 36, and the film still makes me feel like I did when I first saw it.  I am still completely in awe of ‘The Lion King’. Six years after the big Diamond Edition of the Blu-ray, which included 3D, we now have the Signature Collection of the film, which has some new bonus features, along with some older ones. The audio and video presentations seem to be the same transfers.

Film Review: Motherland!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 29th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

In the city of Manila, which is the capital of the Philippines and is considered the most densely populated place on Earth, there is a maternity hospital called Fabella that is said to be the busiest maternity ward in the entire world. That brings us to the documentary Motherland, directed by Ramona S. Diaz. This hospital delivers between 60-100 babies daily as the mothers share a bed with others and their respective newborns. Fabella is a public hospital for women and families who have very little to no money, but help with delivery, surgical procedures, and other forms of care for this explosion of babies every day.
