We had the distinct honor to talk with the amazing director Nicolas Winding Refn and his wife Live Corfixen in Austin, Tx at Fantastic Fest 2014. Refn is one of the advocates for the horror and crime genre and in addition to his great films, he can be seen on several bonus features of other Blu-rays talking about films. Refn directed ‘Valhalla Rising‘, ‘Bronson‘, and the recent films that starred Ryan Gosling which were ‘Drive‘ and ‘Only God Forgives‘. His new film, which was directed by his wife Liv is called ‘My Life‘ and chronicled the production of ‘Only God Forgives‘. It’s a great documentary. Here we discuss what went into that production, some of his previous projects and others that became unrealized, and of course some of their favorite scenes in film. Enjoy.

Hi, MDP Here…

Dean-Ambrose

On a night that was supposed to be all about WWE’s championships, and on a night where he wasn’t even scheduled to appear, the takeaway from Night of Champions is that Dean Ambrose is the coolest. Ambrose had been off for a month after Seth Rollins and Corporate Kane took him out on an episode of Monday Night Raw. Rollins was scheduled to face Roman Reigns on Sunday, but Reigns underwent emergency surgery over the weekend and will be out for several months. While Rollins was gloating in the ring after demanding that the ref declare him the winner via forfeit, Ambrose arrived (via taxi cab; what timing!) and attacked Rollins.

Short Snap Film Review: ‘Bad Guy #2’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Sep 21st, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

badguy2_still_1-300__large

Fantastic-Fest is hitting Austin hard with the newest and brightest in film. It’s a genre-fest, so you’re not going to find any heart-warmingly fuzzy family films there, but what you will find is awesome in any language. This is the product of writer/director/editor Chris McInroy and starred Kirk Johnson.

Hey guys, Jana here,

angb4

I seriously hadn’t thought of Angela Lansbury in years. Sure, I’ll make the ‘Murder, She Wrote‘ joke when the opportunity presents itself, but in my mind, she lives in a cabinet in The Beast’s castle and sings with dishes on occasion. Apparently, she’s not sitting in a cabinet. In fact, the actress is winning Tony’s and impressing the hell out of critics and theater-goers alike, with ‘Blithe Spirit‘. If you happen to be so lucky to be in one of the cities that the cast will be touring through, do yourself a favor and check it out!

Movie Quotes

Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
Darth Vader:
What is thy bidding, my master?
Emperor:
There is a great disturbance in the Force.
Darth Vader:
I have felt it.
Emperor:
We have a new enemy, the young Rebel who destroyed the Death Star. I have no doubt this boy is the offspring of Anakin Skywalker.
Darth Vader:
How is that possible?
Emperor:
Search your feelings, Lord Vader. You will know it to be true. He could destroy us.
Darth Vader:
He's just a boy. Obi-Wan can no longer help him.
Emperor:
The Force is strong with him. The son of Skywalker must not become a Jedi.
Darth Vader:
If he could be turned, he will become a powerful ally.
Emperor:
Yes. He would be a great asset. Can it be done?
Darth Vader:
He will join us or die, my master.
