Hi everyone, Bryan here….

It looks like Warner Bros. wants to make yet another adaptation of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2) writing the screenplay and John Davis (I, Robot) producing. This is perhaps the 74th time Invasion of the Body Snatchers has been remade. Originally this was a book from 1954 that was made for the big screen in 1956.

Warner Bros. Wants to Remake ‘The Matrix’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 14th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

The-Matrix

Warner Bros. is at a loss for original ideas, so they are wanting to get back to 1999 when ‘The Matrix‘ was releasing, because in fact, they want to remake ‘The Matrix‘. This is a terrible idea. There are tons of original stories and ideas out there. Get after it Warner Bros. Sources close to the project have said that a remake of ‘The Matrix‘ is in the works, which isn’t necessarily new news, since we reported on this a couple of years ago. It wasn’t so much of a remake back then, but maybe an expanse on the storyline or even a sequel.

‘I Am Legend’ Reboot From The Warner Bros!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Oct 2nd, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

i-am-legend-poster-big

In 2007, Warner Bros had a hit on their hands when Will Smith took ‘I Am Legend‘ to silver screens across the globe. Since then, the media giant has been searching for avenues to expand the world and story into either prequel or sequel efforts. There was a serious effort at a prequel that saw Warners hiring Arash Amel to write a script that would have brought the scientist, Robert Neville’s character back right to the start of the cataclysmic circumstance that led to his being alone on the planet. The story line didn’t mesh together easily enough and the studio abandoned the project. They’re ready to give it another shot.

Warner Bros. is developing a reboot of ‘The Flinstones‘ again. Only this time, they want to do it as a full length animated feature rather than a live action one. Back almost twenty years ago, Universal made the live action version that had John Goodman as Fred Flinstone, Rick Moranis as Barney Rubble, Elizabeth Perkins, Rosie O’Donnell, and even Elizabeth Taylor. Despite the film looking cool, it wasn’t that great of a film. And the sequel that came soon after was even worse. But it was of course going to fail, because the movie became infamous for having over 30 writers pen the script.

Warner Bros. Is Developing ‘Space Jam 2’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 24th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Space Jam

Over the weekend, a very trusted news source in Hollywood called Deadline, ran a news story that said, “Lebron James was going to star in the upcoming ‘Space Jam‘ sequel. The article mentioned producers and a studio, which was Warner Bros. A day or so later, Lebron and a couple of people on the NBA side and close to Lebron’s camp refuted the story and basically said this wasn’t happening. But the wording they used was confusing. The sources said that there have been no “substantive discussions”, which means, the deals are not made yet, however talks have happened. It seems like Warner Bros. is definitely making a ‘Space Jam‘ sequel, and they want  Lebron to star in it, but again, no deals have been made yet. In my personal opinion, I think Shaq should star rather than Lebron. Or just get Jordan back. He’s not doing anything. Below is the original story.

Warner Bros. Is Building A ‘Lego Movie’ Sequel!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 24th, 2014

After the ‘Lego Movie‘ proved to be such a massive blockbuster hit world-wide, Warner Brothers is not letting any of the momentum die down before announcing a sequel. While the details about the coming film are sketchy at best, one thing we know for sure is the release date has been staked out for May 26, 2017, with it being the beginning of the long Memorial Day weekend, we can assume it will be the tentpole for their summer film releases. At this point, this is the only film to claim the release date. So far, the only real thing that has been confirmed is the release date and that it will be the Lego universe. The rumor mill is spinning with whether or not it will be a proper sequel to the film in theaters now or if it will be a Lego Ninjago spinoff.

Warner Bros. To Remake Akira in Live-Action!!!

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

I know what you’re thinking. I can read your mind. I am peering into the vortex of your psyche…

“…what.”

No question mark. Just flat-out “what.” Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too.

Akira, originally made in 1988, is the anime cult classic that really brought the genre to America. It’s a sci-fi, cyberpunk epic about two boys who follow very different paths. One, the leader of a biker gang, must save the other from the government’s cruel experiments when he shows potentially dangerous psychic powers. Made when animation was still fairly so-so, Akira broke down the barriers keeping America from sampling the beauty of Japanese anime.

Warner Bros. Will Go For ‘Green Lantern 2’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 27th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

Warner Bros. will be pursuing the sequel of ‘Green Lantern’ despite what some would say a box office failure.  Yes the film cost $200 million.  It has not made its money back yet no, but it has only been out for two weeks.  It will make its money back guaranteed.  It’s just not the huge instant money maker the studio hoped for.  So far in its two weeks it has made over $90 million dollars.  Add several more weeks for domestic release and add foreign markets.  Then add the dvd/bluray.  It will get over that $200 million mark.  I’d imagine they will cut the budget in half or more for the sequel.  Honestly, the ‘Green Lantern; film could have easily been made for less than $100 million.  I am looking forward to the sequel.  Read my review for ‘Green Lantern’ HERE.

I want to see Batman slap Fred. I want to see Velma and Daphne fight over Batman. I want to see Shaggy try to unmask Batman. I want to see Scooby wear a Bat-Dog costume. I want the Joker and Ghost Clown to torture civilians. I don’t think this is asking for too much.

You might be able to drink your fancy ales very soon again with new ‘Lord of the Rings‘ projects coming to television in the near future. That’s right. J.R.R. Tolkien’s estate is looking to make more money by selling the rights to ‘The Lord of the Rings‘ universe on television for a potential series. The word around the water-cooler is that the estate is looking for $200 or more million for just the rights. That means $200 million just to have the okay to make the series, not including any production costs, casting, paying actors, or anything.

Hey Riggs! ‘Lethal Weapon 5’ Might Happen!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 27th, 2017

You’re never too old for this shit as Warner Bros. is talking with everyone about a new ‘Lethal Weapon‘ film that brings back the original cast. According to some sources, director Richard Donner (Lethal Weapon, Superman, The Goonies) would return in the director’s chair with Channing Gibson writing the screenplay. That name isn’t a typo either. Channing Gibson wrote ‘Lethal Weapon 4‘ and ‘Walking Tall‘ with The Rock. This would also bring back Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in their respective and iconic roles.

4K UHD Review: Wonder Woman!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 19th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

The Warner Bros./DC Comics Cinematic Universe has been trying to get off its feet for a while now with no success, besides some decent box office money. However, most people would tell you that the new DC Comics‘ films are just not up to par with their rivals over at Marvel for many reasons. These people would be right. Perhaps one of the best moments of Batman v Superman was in fact Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It was just a shame she only had a few minutes of screen time in that film. The rest was mostly trash. Luckily, Warner Bros. and DC Comics decided to finally make a Wonder Woman movie, which is the first superhero film to feature a female superhero as its main protagonist, as well with a female director with Patty Jenkins. The result is satisfying, making Wonder Woman a damn good film with a few flaws.

Film Review: IT!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 7th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

Pennywise the Dancing Clown is back in Derry, Maine after a long hiatus and troubled production. Despite the production issues, this modern version of Stephen King’s IT is a success in many ways, but has a few tiny flaws. Let me just say that if you have a phobia or are scared of clowns in any way, this film will be quite frightening  for you. Bill Skarsgard fills the shoes of a 1993 Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown and does a very good job. It’s not the same playful Pennywise from the 90s TV movie though. His outfit is different and Pennywise this time around seems more sinister and attacks his victims faster and more violently as we see in that first opening scene with little Georgie looking for his paper boat that went into the sewer.

Gremlins 3 is Finally Happening!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 16th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Could there be a third Gremlins film? Yes, very much so. If you follow Gremlins actor Zach Galligan, you’d know that every Monday, he tweets out something about getting Gremlins 3 made. Looks like that has finally happened, which I couldn’t be more excited about. Chris Columbus has written a script for the third film, which he wrote the screenplay for the original film as well as The Goonies and has directed a ton of great films.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

This movie sounds like so much fun and a little like that 1980’s horror film by Lamberto Bava called Demons, which followed a bunch of people attending a movie screening of a horror film, only to find out that there was an evil force that turned them into blood thirsty demons. This new film though is called Blood Fest and comes from the Rooster Teeth team, which brought us Red vs Blue and Lazer Team.

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

The cat is out of the bag. The next big movie in the DC Cinematic Universe will be Shazam!, which is a story about a boy who transforms into the mightiest mortal on Earth. Filming should begin at the start of 2018 and will release the following year. They even have a director now, which is David F. Sandberg – a horror filmmaker. Sandberg made Lights Out and the upcoming Annabelle: Creation, according to THR. That’s pretty much it. Now he’s getting a big comic book franchise. It’s exciting for sure and judging by Lights Out, I’m sure he’s more than capable.

The New ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer is Here!

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Wonder Woman (2017) Gal Gadot

There is a brand new ‘Wonder Woman‘ trailer, starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman with Patty Jenkins directing. Jenkins directed ‘Monster‘ a while ago and hasn’t done too much since then. The trailer looks good for sure, but we’ve been misled before by DC Comics on numerous films. So I’ll say, I definitely have low low hopes for this being any good, but I hope for the opposite. When Ben Affleck isn’t making the next Boston crime movie or saying “Yes” to a cameo role in Kevin Smith’s latest direct-to-video film, he’s reading comic books with Matt Damon and deciding on which next Hollywood starlet to take out for a steak dinner and never call again. You can say a lot of things about Affleck, but you can’t say he doesn’t know when to say “no”. ‘Gotham City Sirens’ Will Rock Theaters Soon!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

GCS Cv1 var

Margot Robbie and director David Ayer are back together, the last time this happened, the world received ‘Suicide Squad‘. The next venture is even more of a daunting task, and that is ‘Gotham City Sirens‘. I’ll assume that not everyone eats, sleeps and breathes DC comics and I’ll slow it down. DC is the comic book world I prefer to live in, I like dark, deep, broody, melancholy atmospheres, and I’m not entirely certain the sun ever hits the center of Gotham City, but I’m ok with that. Marvel is too bright and flashy and, just not me.

4K UHD Review: ‘Suicide Squad’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 13th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

a1kazv9rhrl-_sl1500_

THE FILM

There seems to be a good movie hidden somewhere in ‘Suicide Squad‘, but the film itself makes it nearly impossible for you to find where those good moments are. The film is its own worst enemy, because it promises something new and fresh in the first dozen or so minutes, but then nose dives into the mountain from there on out. This is certainly writer/director David Ayer’s most ambitious project and I can’t tell if it’s his mistake or the collection of DC/Warner Bros. executives who forced the notes on him to make this film not succeed, because again, the first part of the movie gathers your hopes up for something fun. Ayer wrote ‘Training Day‘ and ‘U-571‘, then transitioned into directing with ‘End of Watch‘ and ‘Fury‘, which were both new and fresh takes on tired genres. I was hoping that Ayer could breathe new life and put the DC Comic movie franchise on the right track, but alas, that is not the case.

THE FILM

Ben Affleck’sArgo’ is a brilliantly told film.  Affleck has come a long way since ‘Dazed and Confused’ and ‘Mallrats‘.  In my opinion, Affleck has gotten better with each directorial effort with ‘Gone Baby Gone’, ‘The Town’, and now ‘Argo’, which I think is his best yet.  Not only is ‘Argo’ a great film, it has a smart script, good acting, clever humor in a serious and tragic situation, and impeccable period detail that rivals AMC’s ‘Mad Men’.

THE FILM

Director Baz Luhrmann has created a grand opus filled with shiny costumes, modern music, magical camera tricks, and classic style of early Hollywood film-making to bring to life once again F. Scott Fitzgerald’s beloved and iconic novel ‘The Great Gatsby‘. The film is over-the-top, lavish, and a bit flawed. But that is how the title character is after all. The feel and tone of the film is entrancing, as the visuals take is to the early 20s in New York, where we become infatuated with Gatsby and his American dream.

THE FILM

It seems like a ton of horror movies come out every year, and most times, they don’t live up to their potential. There are a handful of horror movies over the last decade that really satisfy us horror fans. Films like ‘The Babadook‘, ‘It Follows‘, and ‘The Conjuring‘ will still be talked about for years to come. One name in the horror genre, or at least in recent years is James Wan. This man burst onto the scene with ‘Saw‘, which was basically genre changing and spawned a ton of sequels. Wan also made a few other horror films, all testing the bounds and pushing us into a new horror direction, while still respecting his influences.
