4K UHD Review: ‘Jigsaw’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 16th, 2018

Wait, what? He’s back? He’s really back with his infamous contraptions that kill people? Of course he’s back, even after a seven year hiatus, which was the last time we watched the Saw franchise on the big screen. Jigsaw marks the 8th film in the series since 2004 and with an eight film combined budget of $77 million, the box office gross of all eight films is a hair-line under $1 billion. So if you think there will be more Saw films with more Tobin Bell, the answer is a hard “yes”. The Spierig Bros. (Undead, Predestination, Daybreakers) are in the director chairs this time around as they put Jigsaw/John Cramer (Bell) in the center of the story.

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 2nd, 2018

Nothing is over when it comes to the ‘Saw‘ franchise and Jigsaw. The new installment in that horror series, simply titled ‘Jigsaw‘ is coming to 4K UHD, Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD on January 23rd. You’ll be able to watch it digitally as early as January 9th. They brothers who made the zombie film ‘Undead‘ and the vampire film ‘Daybreakers‘ sat in the director’s chair this time around with more insane bloody traps and more twists and turns than ever before. There are tons of extras, including audio commentary and behind the scenes featurettes. There is also a Dolby Atmos audio track, which I hope is demo worthy. To hear blood and guts fall from the ceiling could be super awesome. More details below.

Texas Frightmare Weekend Recap!!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 7th, 2014

Maggie V. Here….

To put it lightly, ‘Texas Frightmare Weekend‘ was AWESOME.  From the amazing guests to the outrageous costumes, to the comics, toys, posters, and movie props – all of it was a blast! This was my first time at Texas Frightmare Weekend so I wasn’t sure what to expect. But needless to say my expectations were succeeded. It was at the Hyatt Hotel at DFW airport and by the time I got there on Friday, there were already a ton of people there. This hotel is perfect for this event.  There was ample room for everyone to move around and everything was easily accessible. I immediately went to see Mr. George Romero (the godfather of zombie films) and Tom Savini (makeup artist extraordinaire). Their lines were fairly long but they moved quickly. Romero looks great and seemed to have a great time while Savini looks like he is tired of the convention circuit. It made me laugh. Everyone who worked at the event was very helpful as well.

Movie Quotes

Tony Stark:
I never got to say goodbye to my father. There's questions I would've asked him. I would've asked him how he felt about what his company did, if he was conflicted, if he ever had doubts. Or maybe he was every inch of man we remember from the newsreels. I saw young Americans killed by the very weapons I created to defend them and protect them. And I saw that I had become part of a system that is comfortable with zero-accountability.
Press Reporter #1:
Mr. Stark, what happened over there?
Tony Stark:
I had my eyes opened. I came to realize that I had more to offer this world than just making things that blow up. And that is why, effective immediately, I am shutting down the weapons manufacturing division of Stark Industries.
