Dec/2019

Hi, Bryan Here….

We all know that there is a sequel to ‘The Muppets’ coming soon.  I thought director James Bobin and Jason Segel did a phenomenal job in resurrecting Jim Henson’s creation.  Well, we have several tidbits of information about the upcoming sequel, which is set to release December 20, 2013.

Hi Bryan Here…..

The 84th annual Academy Award nominations are in.  There are a couple of surprises that I was very happy to see on here and tons of disappointment.  It looks like the Academy went with 9 Best Picture noms this year rather than 10.  They also only went with 3 noms for make up which I can think of others, and only two for original song.  Was this a time issue, so that the event would be over on time for once rather than have all 5 songs being sung?  I don’t like it, but that’s how it is this year.  Below you will see each category with my thoughts.  Enjoy.

‘The Muppets’ Bluray and DVD Announced and Detailed!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 19th, 2012

Hi Bryan Here….

“Why are there so many songs about rainbows?”  YES!!!  ‘The Muppets’ bluray and DVD will be available March 20th of this year and will be available on bluray, DVD, and digital copy.  The disc will be packed with tons of cool extras and HD audio and video.  I just loved watching this in the theatre.  I even got emotional a couple of times, because it brought back some good memories growing up watching the Muppets.  I loved everything about the movie.  Cannot wait to pick this up.

Hi Bryan Here….

In conjunction with the new ‘Muppets’ movie coming out in late November of this year, a Muppets music album will be released as well with tons of big names lending their talent to the album.  On August 23, Disney will release Muppets: The Green Album, a collection of musicians offering covers of Muppet standards.  AWESOME.  I hope it comes out on vinyl.  Below is the track list.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Muppets Most Wanted’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 14th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

MuppetsMostWantedBlurayCombo_jpg_rgb

THE FILM

It’s very difficult to find a sequel that’s as good as the original. There aren’t a lot out there that are great sequels, but when they do come along, they are remembered forever. And maybe what worked so well for the first Muppet film that starred Jason Segel and Amy Adams is that it had a human element to it, and didn’t just follow the Muppets around. That’s not to say that this sequel ‘Muppets: Most Wanted‘ isn’t a lot of fun and very entertaining. It is, but it doesn’t have that magic that the last one had.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Well, we can all look for another Muppet film in the coming future, but it won’t be with Jason Segel. In an interview over at Collider, Segel, who co-wrote and starred in the Muppet Movie, which yes folk, has an OSCAR, talks about why he won’t be starring or writing the sequel.  After reading his response, I agree with him.  Segel is very talented and very funny, and I look forward to his future projects, muppets or not.

New Muppets Trailer Takes On Green Lantern!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 16th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here…

I am so psyched for a new Muppets film.  We saw the first trailer a few weeks ago that sort of played out like a romantic comedy, that is until we see Kermit.  Check the first trailer out HERE.  Now with the anticipation of the Green Lantern coming out this weekend, and with Kermit being green and all, it all kinda goes hand in hand.  Such a fun trailer.  And of course “It’s not in Sweedish”.  LOL!

‘Flight of the Conchords’ are coming back to HBO!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 11th, 2018

In the daytime of the night, Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, who make up the duo that is the hilarious ‘Flight of the Conchords‘ are coming back to HBO for a one-hour special of music and comedy later this year. The comedic pair will perform new and old songs on their upcoming comedy tour, which will be filmed in front of a sold out audience in the UK. This is just excellent news and I hope the two will have future specials and even a new show after the success of this upcoming one. I wonder if there will be a new Bowie song or a sequel to ‘Business Time’. I hope so.

Disney’s Live-Action Calendar Looks Amazing!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Apr 26th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

emma_stone_cruella_de_vil_split

Disney loves the live-action fairy tale trend as it’s proven by the last few years of their movie catalog, so it’s not surprising they are planning out a slate of movies into the next several years.

From Director James Bobin (‘The Muppets‘, ‘Da Ali G Show‘) comes the sequel we’ve waited 5 years for and the trailer makes it seem that waiting was more than worth it. Everyone’s back with a few new characters like Sacha Baron Cohen as the mysterious and evil Lord of Time.

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage12

Two great family film companies, Walden Media and Jim Henson Productions, are joining forces to produce, and develop an original story about a rather nasty subject, a pagan demon who punishes wicked children at Christmas. Did I mention he has horns and looks fifty shades of creepy? They’ve gone with the title ‘Happy Krampus!‘ so they’re going to make it a family-friendly project with a live-action production.

The success of ‘The Lego Movie‘ ignited a storm of sequels that Warner Bros. have slated for production including ‘Ninjago‘ in 2016, ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ the following year in 2017 and ‘The Lego Movie 2‘ in 2018, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for one more spinoff based on the yellow blocky people, ‘Billion Brick Race‘.
