Film Review: ‘[The Girl in the Spider’s Web: A New Dragon Tattoo Story]’!!
Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…
In the game of chess, there are rules. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, the brainchild of Stieg Larsson, has wowed and shocked audiences since 2009 when the novel and the Swedish version of the film of the same name were released. The heroine of these provocative tales, Lisbeth Salander, is a genius level conqueror/hacker with who fights injustice. In The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Salander (now portrayed by Claire Foy of the Netflix hit, The Crown, a huge mistake in my opinion) has taken vigilantism to a new level. Do not mess with this chick. ‘The Princess Bride’ is coming to Criterion!
The magnificent Criterion Collection has just announced their October 2018 titles, which include Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s long-unavailable television series Eight Hours Don’t Make a Day, a working-class soap opera suffused with affection and solidarity, Warren Beatty in Shampoo– a sly sendup of sex and politics in the 1960s directed by Hal Ashby, Brian De Palma’s Sisters, the virtuoso director’s twisted and terrifying first foray into Hitchcock territory, and Cornel Wilde’s stripped-down action film The Naked Prey. But more importantly, the iconic film ‘The Princess Bride‘ is finally getting the high-end home video treatment from Criterion.
4K UHD Review: ‘Forrest Gump’!
THE FILM
In 1986, author Winston Groom gave us the book ‘Forrest Gump‘, about a simple minded guy who accomplished a lot through his life, including running a shrimping boat and being an astronaut. That book was made into an award winning film called ‘Forrest Gump‘ that starred Tom Hanks as Gump and Robin Wright Penn, amongst other people. Even though there are many differences from the book, this adaptation that director Robert Zemeckis made was truly inspirational, emotional, and a lot of fun.

4K UHD Review: Wonder Woman!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
THE FILM
The Warner Bros./DC Comics Cinematic Universe has been trying to get off its feet for a while now with no success, besides some decent box office money. However, most people would tell you that the new DC Comics‘ films are just not up to par with their rivals over at Marvel for many reasons. These people would be right. Perhaps one of the best moments of Batman v Superman was in fact Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It was just a shame she only had a few minutes of screen time in that film. The rest was mostly trash. Luckily, Warner Bros. and DC Comics decided to finally make a Wonder Woman movie, which is the first superhero film to feature a female superhero as its main protagonist, as well with a female director with Patty Jenkins. The result is satisfying, making Wonder Woman a damn good film with a few flaws.
Wonder Woman 4K UHD and Blu-ray Announced!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
Perhaps the biggest movie of the summer and the one film to get DC and Warner Bros. back on track with their superhero films – WONDER WOMAN, is coming to 4K UHD, Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and DVD. Warner is sure milking this for all its worth, since they are also releasing a 3D version of the film, even though 3D is dead in the water. The 4K UHD is the way to go for sure here if you have the right equipment. You can own the movie digitally as soon as August 29th, and you’ll be able to purchase the Blu-ray, 4K, 3D, and DVD on September 19th. There are tons of bonus features as well, which I can’t wait to watch. Official information below.
Film Review #2: Wonder Woman!
Dan M., here….
Let’s cut to the chase, Wonder Woman is great and one of the best modern superhero origin movies ever made. It deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as the original Superman, Batman Begins, Iron Man, etc. It is a nearly flawless introduction to a truly interesting character who cannot only carry her own film but will hopefully help carry future DC films the way Iron Man does with Marvel ones.

The New ‘Wonder Woman’ Trailer is Here!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
There is a brand new ‘Wonder Woman‘ trailer, starring Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman with Patty Jenkins directing. Jenkins directed ‘Monster‘ a while ago and hasn’t done too much since then. The trailer looks good for sure, but we’ve been misled before by DC Comics on numerous films. So I’ll say, I definitely have low low hopes for this being any good, but I hope for the opposite. The film comes out on June 2nd, 2017.
We’ve Got The Exciting ‘Blade Runner 2049’ Trailer!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Dennis Villeneuve, the director for the Hugh Jackman vehicle, ‘Prisoners‘ and the Oscar nominated ‘Incendies‘, takes on the continuation of ‘Blade Runner‘. The film is set thirty years after the first film and stars Ryan Gosling. Harrison Ford is back, but he’s not the focal point of the film. Also appearing in the film are Ana de Armas, Jared Leto, Mackenzie Davis, Robin Wright and Dave Bautista.
Take A Look At The Poster For The ‘Wonder Woman’ Movie!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
We know a standalone ‘Wonder Woman‘ movie has been in the works for quite some time, we don’t have a plot to the film, yet, but we know her history. The Amazonian princess-warrior Diana left her lush tropical island to dwell in our urban cityscapes of glass and steel. Tutored in the ways of the Greek warriors, and outfitted with incredible gifts the Goddess bestowed upon her people, she becomes Paradise Island’s emissary to civilization.
Dave Bautista Signs Onto ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Dave Bautista has made a name for himself in a few galaxies. One of them being the WWE Universe where he kicked ass all over the place, while another one being the film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘ where he played Drax. Where ever you know him from, one thing is certain, the man has a palpable presence on-screen. I’d bet this is part of the reason he has been chosen for a high-profile sequel, and I’m not talking about his part in Guardians 2, this time it’s for ‘Blade Runner‘.
If You Missed The Golden Globes, Check Out The Winners List Here!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
I’ve got your cheat sheet for the winners and losers from last night’s Golden Globe Awards, so let’s get to it!!!
And the 2016 Golden Globe Nominees Are….
Hi everyone, Bryan Here…
The awards show is January 10 on NBC hosted by Ricky Gervais. First off, let’s look at something AWESOME here. ‘MAD MAX: FURY ROAD‘ is nominated for BEST PICTURE. It needs to win. It should win. And if does win, we all go streaking. That being said…I can’t believe that ‘Me and Earl and the Dying Girl‘ was not nominated for anything. Come on. It’s one of the BEST films of the year. It’s also interesting to see no love for the final season of ‘Mad Men’ her either. Oh well.
Here is the list of nominees:
