by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 31st, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

prince-batdance

Prince is coming back in a big way very shortly. After years and years of shitting all over the internet and streaming services, Prince finally joined the world and accepted that his music should be available online, and not just vinyl, cassette, and CD. Prince must have come across PornHub and thought, “this is the wave of the future.” Next thing you know, we have ‘Batdance‘ online, and that was as recent as 2015.

The film received a July release date last year in France and, just last month, it was awarded the Cesar Award for best animated film.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Will Smith’s name and company, Overbrook Entertainment, has been linked to what’s been referred to as a ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘ reboot, but that’s not quite accurate. The studio is definitely involved in making a family comedy that has a slight resemblance to the series that transformed the Fresh Prince from the rapper we loved, to the on-screen entertainer that’s taken over the world.

Hey guys, Jana here,

GoM_Poster

What began as your typical biopic about the timeless Grace Kelly to be released in 2013 for Oscar contention, soon faced a release delay being pushed back to Spring 2014, then eventually pulled from theater-release altogether for a network premier direct to TV.

‘The Princess Bride’ Is Coming To The Stage!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 11th, 2013

Jana B., Here…

 the_princess_bride_movie_image__1_

There is a list of things that actually make me Squee like a fan girl. Yes, ‘Squee’. Look it up on Urban Dictionary. Watching The Princess Bride as a kid was one of my greatest memories of lazy summer afternoons, impromptu snowed in school days with hot chocolate and a blanket. Being sick and all I wanted was my mom’s sick soup and to watch The Princess Bride, or read it. Now my sick movies are not only The Princess Bride, buy Gone With The Wind, as well. I’m not even close to being alone with my love of the cult classic that forever made The Foundations song, Build Me Up Buttercup, only think of Robin Wright and how the angsty Westley must have felt at times.

Bruce Willis Signs On With ‘The Prince’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 9th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…..

Bruce Willis in GI Joe 2

Bruce Willis isn’t giving up the action films yet. He is set to star in an action-thriller called ‘The Prince‘, which will be produced and financed by Emmett/Furla films. Get this though, the budget is only $15 million dollars. An action film, starring Bruce Willis for only $15 million? That’s crazy, considering what Willis did a few weeks ago.

Hi, Bryan Here…

“As you wish.”  Looks like we will all have to be shelling out money again for the 25th anniversary edition of ‘The Princess Bride’.  From celebrated director Rob Reiner (‘The Bucket List’) and Oscar®-winning screenwriter William Goldman (‘Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid’) comes “an enchanting fantasy” (Time) filled with adventure, romance and plenty of “good-hearted fun” (Roger Ebert). Featuring a spectacular cast that includes Robin Wright (‘Forrest Gump’), Cary Elwes (‘No Strings Attached’), Mandy Patinkin (‘Homeland’) and Billy Crystal (‘Tooth Fairy’), this wonderful fairy tale about a Princess named Buttercup and her beloved is “a real dream of a movie” (People).

4K UHD Review: Wonder Woman!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 19th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

The Warner Bros./DC Comics Cinematic Universe has been trying to get off its feet for a while now with no success, besides some decent box office money. However, most people would tell you that the new DC Comics‘ films are just not up to par with their rivals over at Marvel for many reasons. These people would be right. Perhaps one of the best moments of Batman v Superman was in fact Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. It was just a shame she only had a few minutes of screen time in that film. The rest was mostly trash. Luckily, Warner Bros. and DC Comics decided to finally make a Wonder Woman movie, which is the first superhero film to feature a female superhero as its main protagonist, as well with a female director with Patty Jenkins. The result is satisfying, making Wonder Woman a damn good film with a few flaws.

Film Review: Patti Cake$!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 24th, 2017

Audrey E., here….

Step aside, Detroit. It’s Jersey’s time to rhyme! Straight out of the slums of suburbia, music-video Director Geremy Jasper serves up his feature film debut with ‘Patti Cake$’, a fresh princess tale of a maverick white rapper, Killa P, a.k.a. Patti (Danielle Macdonald). Pining to get away from her grungy surroundings and struggling family life, Patti sets off on a journey for a piece of the limelight with an unlikely pair. Perfectly mixed with a memorable soundtrack, wit and style, ‘Patti Cake$‘ manages to commend the craft of a genre that’s rightfully earned its place in Americana, while concurrently challenging the notions of race in music.

Blu-ray Review: Going in Style!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 10th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

(Film Review portion is by Janet White)

Going in Style, a remake of the 1979 film of the same name, struts out of the Warner Brothers’ catalog to fill theaters with laughter once again. Joe (Michael Caine, formerly played by George Burns), Willie (Morgan Freeman, formerly Lee Strasberg), and Albert (Alan Arkinformerly Art Carney) mix it up to form a hilariously bad trio bent on robbing the establishments that robbed them of their pension. For thirty plus years they worked for Wechsler Steel Company who suddenly relocates out of the country and dissolves their pension fund. Faced with foreclosure, a need for a kidney transplant, and the knowledge that they were robbed to pay their former employer’s utility bills drive Joe, Willie, and Al to rob WSB bank.
