Jun/2018

Hi, Bryan Here….

NEBRASKA
I had the extreme honor and pleasure to sit down with the amazing and talented Will Forte to talk about his newest film ‘Nebraska‘. We discuss his role in the Alexander Payne film, and what it was like working with Payne, Bruce Dern, Bob Odenkirk, and June Squibb. We also talk about his record high Donkey Kong score, his passion for karaoke, and his favorite scenes from movies. Forte evens sings ‘War Pigs’ in his german accent from ‘Beerfest‘. Forte is an excellent actor and a great person. Enjoy the fun interview and go see ‘Nebraska‘.

Film Review: ‘Nebraska’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 15th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

nebraska-movie1

Director Alexander Payne sure has a knack for giving us quirky characters and showing us their relationships with their friends and families. With Oscar winning films like ‘Sideways‘ and ‘The Descendants‘, Payne is still in tune with his generational comedy routine, warts and all. This time around, ‘Nebraska‘ is on a more somber note than his previous work, but still manages to fill the theater with laughs as we witness a black and white screen of a family road trip film of sorts, that showcases a family’s appalling attitude when one seems to have hit the jackpot. With an impressive cast led by Will Forte and Bruce Dern, I expect decent returns at the box office, riding on the coattails of Payne’s previous work, however this stands on its own and should garner some awards come Oscar season.

Film Review: ‘Downsizing’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 21st, 2017

Shrinking down to fun size has historically been an entertaining idea in the imaginations of many. Whether it is ‘Ant-Man’ in the pages of comics or ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ in the theatrics of movies, “getting small” isn’t exactly a new concept. In the latest film ‘Downsizing’, Director Alexander Payne attempts to add a satirical spin on the miniature world with people living like royalty while also saving their carbon footprints, but the result is an awkwardly muddled comedy that squashes any chances it may have had with making a big impact.

Woody Harrelson is ‘Wilson’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 18th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

Screen Shot 2017-01-18 at 3.18.19 PM

Woody Harrelson is having a few big years and for good reason. The guy is just genuinely likable and a badass. His next big film is called ‘Wilson‘ and will premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. ‘Wilson‘ is directed by Craig Johnson (‘Skeleton Twins‘), written by Daniel Clowes (‘Art School Confidential‘, ‘Ghost World‘), and produced by Alexander Payne (‘Election‘, ‘Sideways‘, ‘About Schmidt‘, ‘The Descendants‘, ‘Nebraska‘). Need I say, “HOLY SHIT”, what a cast and crew already. If that weren’t enough, you can add Laura Dern, Judy Greer, and Cheryl Hines to the cast as well. Fox Searchlight now has a trailer and new poster for the film, which looks excellent.

Will Forte Joins ‘The Simpsons’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 23rd, 2014
Hello, Jana here,

180674032JF00024_Life_Of_Cr

Will Forte is a renaissance man. We’ve all seen him as a bit player in dozens of different movies. He’s the nose-bleed guy from ‘How I Met Your Mother‘, ‘Saturday Night Live‘, and in a heart-touching role in the Oscar nominated ‘Nebraska‘. Bruce Dern is amazing, but I really think that Forte should have been nominated for an Academy Award, as well.

Jana B. here,

Will Forte

Fox is adding to its stable of fantastic television shows with ‘Last Man on Earth‘. Funnyman Will Forte (‘Nebraska‘, ‘Magruber‘, ‘Squirrels To The Nuts‘)  created and will star in the show. Executive producing and directing the pilot are the duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller from ‘The Lego Movie‘, ‘Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs‘ and ‘Clone High‘. This project is expected to produce 6-10 episodes and is part of Fox chairman Kevin Reilly’s plan to bypass pilot season altogether and go straight to series and cast projects outside of the traditional January-April pilot cycle.

Bryan’s Top 15 Movie List of 2013!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 28th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here…

2013-best

And here we are, at the very end of 2013. What a year for movies. This was an amazing year for film. There were so many great independent films, documentaries, and movies that were just highly entertaining, that I’ve watched them more than five times already. As usual, as long as I’ve been doing this, my Top Movie list of the year is very different from most everyone else that has made a list. I don’t know why – well I do know, because I’m twisted and crazy. But how I base my list is a variety of factors, not ones that the Oscars base their opinions on, but rather a more humble and fun variety of factors. For example, did this movie make me stand up and slow clap, or did it make me slap the person next to me and yell ‘THAT WAS AWESOME’! It’s those kind of things. So without further delay, I present to you my TOP 15 list for 2013. Let me know if you disagree or agree, love or hate, or just want to say hi. Enjoy.

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 12th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

1355416686-golden_globe_awards

Here are the nominees for the 2014 Golden Globe Awards. Wow, there were a lot of snubs here. And how did ‘Rush‘ make the list for Best Picture? No way! And what about ‘The Way Way Back‘, ‘Mud‘, or ‘Short Term 12‘ not being nominated? For shame. Let me know what you think of this nominee list?

Hi Bryan Here….

Well the 2nd part of Season 2 of ‘The Walking Dead’ is upon us.  Particularly February 12th on AMC.  The episode is called “Nebraska” and it looks like the first episode will pick up right where the last one left off.  I really enjoyed the first part of the 2nd season, but I really think that this 2nd part will be the meat and potatoes of the 2nd season.  Looking forward to this.
