We have a very fun 62nd episode of our fun podcast under the MULTI-MEDIA MEN banner called ‘Media-Ocrity‘, where the show is just – okay. Here on the show, we focus strictly on horror/sci-fi, comic books, and video games – basically all the fun stuff that tickles your fancy. In our 62nd episode, titled ‘Lord of the Amigos‘, we Re-Cast ‘The Three Amigos‘ again, but this time with actresses over 60 years old, which was more difficult than originally planned. We also discuss more info on the Lord of the Rings TV series, review Star Wars Battlefront II, and the whole Marvel and DC universe. It was so much fun. This episode is guaranteed to thrill you, chill you, and fulfill you. I am joined pop-culture wizard Jonathan Atterbury and comic book artist Jeremy Megert.

You might be able to drink your fancy ales very soon again with new ‘Lord of the Rings‘ projects coming to television in the near future. That’s right. J.R.R. Tolkien’s estate is looking to make more money by selling the rights to ‘The Lord of the Rings‘ universe on television for a potential series. The word around the water-cooler is that the estate is looking for $200 or more million for just the rights. That means $200 million just to have the okay to make the series, not including any production costs, casting, paying actors, or anything.

Here is our third Re-Cast of the year, where if you are unfamiliar with our famous Re-Casts, we take an older film or tv show and re-cast it if it were remade today. And we have chosen the big blockbuster film ‘The Lord of the Rings‘, specifically, ‘Fellowship of the Ring‘ to re-cast. Our one rule was that we had to Re-Cast this with an all black actors and actresses. And let me tell you, I want to see this movie. This was a lot of fun. We will be posting some images of our re-cast for you to see in full on our FACEBOOK page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. And don’t forget to visit iTunes and subscribe to our podcast. Enjoy the show.

Hi, Bryan Here….

the-hobbit

I’m not too surprised at this and congratulate everyone involve with this, but this happend, because of the extra charges for 3D and the 48 fps.  I’m curious to see how much all three ‘Lord of the Rings’ films would have made if they charged what they did with ‘The Hobbit‘ back then.  So far, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ has made over $940 million worldwide since it debuted in theaters December 14th.  This is more than ‘The Two Towers‘ and ‘Fellowship‘.

I love a good book adaptation, but first, I love the novel. The next book I have to add to my download list, besides Michael Punke’sThe Revenant: A Novel of Revenge‘, is ‘The Good Lord Bird‘ written by James McBride. This adaptation brings in big talent from Liev Schreiber (‘Ray Donovan‘,  and Jaden Smith (‘The Karate Kid‘, ‘After Earth‘).

Hey guys, Jana here,

We all know the movies based on the books of J.R.R. Tolkien (‘The Lord of the Rings‘ and ‘The Hobbit‘ trilogies), but not many knew the man. Chernin Entertainment for Fox Searchlight have set Dome Karukoski at the task of directing a biopic of the author. Nicholas Hoult is the front-runner to take on the part of the gifted author.

4K UHD Reivew: Kong: Skull Island!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 17th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

THE FILM

We’ve seen a ton of versions of ‘King Kong‘ over the decades from the 1933 version to the Jeff Bridges version in the 1970s, and even more recently, the 2005 version that was directed by ‘Lord of the Rings‘ director Peter Jackson. ‘King Kong‘ has been a staple in entertainment and pop culture since he debuted in the early 30s and he is showing no signs of stopping, thanks to Warner Bros.and Legendary Pictures who are taking their cues from Marvel and creating their own universe called the ‘MonsterVerse‘.

Soundtracks we want to see released on Vinyl!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 15th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

preview

I just love soundtracks to movies. I always have and I believe I always will. There is something about a score to a film that just perks me up in all the right ways and inspires my creative side, whether it be to write a screenplay or go back an watch that old film I love. Music is an integral part to films and is considered to be the mojo of every movie. I’m sure we’ve all seen that odd YouTube video of the final scene in Star Wars: A New Hope, where Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca walk down a crowded arena to receive their medals to zero music. It’s super weird and awkward with no music, but just random sound effects of footsteps and a rare cough, laugh, and Chewie’s roar. John Williams did such a great job, as he always does with Star Wars music, but that final scene of music really puts your emotions on full blast. It’s all from the soundtrack too.

Dan M., Here….

fast-and-furious-04252011

I saw The Fast and The Furious when I was 14 or 15. As someone who grew up watching Point Break on VHS and other 80s/90s action movies it was right in my wheel house. I have never been a car guy but I still remember that summer talking with my friends about Honda Civics, Nos, and spoilers that we’d all be getting when we turned 16. The first movie is a step by step remake of Point Break, right down to letting the “bad guy” go at the end with “I owe you a 10 second car” instead of “Vaya Con Dios.” It stared two relatively unknowns in Paul Walker and Vin Diesel who will never be confused with Daniel Day Lewis but were born to play these parts. Ultimately was a fun summer popcorn movie that no one thought they’d hear from again, let alone turn into an almost 4 billion dollar franchise.
