There are some things in the world that immediately give you a sense of comfort. A favorite book on a rainy afternoon, catching up with a childhood friend that makes up more than half of your memories, and Harrison Ford at the cineplex. We got another shot of comfort in 2008 with ‘Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull‘ and again this last year with ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens‘. Now, we have learned there will be another Indiana Jones movie in theaters the summer of 2019!

Chris Pratt is having one hell of a year. The talented funny actor, mostly known for his role on ‘Parks and Rec‘, hit superstar status a the lead in James Gunn’s Marvel film ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘. Here he proved he was meant for the big time. Since then, he is starring in the 4th ‘Jurassic Park‘ film and a revamp of ‘The Magnificent Seven‘ with Denzel Washington.

Disney Whips Up The Rights to ‘Indiana Jones’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 6th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

indy

Disney. Why did it have to be Disney? I kid. Well, it was only a matter of time before Disney got their mouse mittens on the ‘Indiana Jones‘ franchise. So let’s go down the list shall we? Disney now has Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and now Indiana Jones. Soon Disney will have everything, including all of the Ernest movies. Paramount sold the rights to the franchise to Disney today, which includes marketing and distribution deals.  Recently, Disney bought LucasFilm, which means they have ‘Star Wars‘ now, but not ‘Indiana Jones‘.

Hi, Bryan Here…

For a very limited time, you can get the Complete Blu-ray movie set to the ‘Indiana Jones‘ films.  Yes, the Crystal Skull does come with it, but the other three films are worth it.  This set retails for about $100.00, but now you can get it for $39.99, which makes it the cheapest it has ever been.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Finally, Indiana Jones is coming to bluray.  Looks like the Fall of 2012 will be the time area of the release and even Amazon has a pre-order link right now of $74.99.  I bet the price will go down even more by then.  Now technical details or extras have been announced yet, but hopefully we will get what was on the DVD version plus more.  And for FUCK’S sake, I hope Lucas doesn’t change anything with these.  Paramount released the following info today.

Indiana Jones to Get the 3D Treatment…

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 27th, 2010

The powers that be over at the Lucas Compound is set to announce sometime soon that all of the Indiana Jones films will be converted to 3D.  After they are converted they will be re-released into cinemas around the globe.  Now, I am pretty tired of this 3D bullshit and converting older movies into 3D, but it would be pretty cool to see the original Indiana Jones films on the big screen again with a very enthusiastic audience.

Your thoughts?

4K UHD Review: Tomb Raider (2018)!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 14th, 2018

THE FILM

(This film portion was written by Dan Moran.)

Well the streak remains intact. There still hasn’t been a good video game movie. Tomb Raider isn’t a horrible time at the movies but it sure isn’t a good one. You know that old saying “You can’t put lipstick on a pig.”? Well you can’t put great actors in a video game movie either… its still a damn video game movie.

4K UHD Review: ‘The Mummy’ (2017)

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 13th, 2017

THE FILM

(This film portion was written by Fernando Martinez)

The Mummy (1999) is by far one of the best movies I’ve ever seen.  Written and directed by Stephen Sommers, it works as an homage to classic monster movies, great adventures, and old school “hero of the day” golden age of cinema films. Starring Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and what can only be described as a truly breakout performance by Arnold Vosloo as The Mummy Himself, Imhotep!

Favorite Movie Scene of the Day #16!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 3rd, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

My favorite time of year is Thanksgiving. I love that holiday for a multitude of reasons. It’s the start of giving back to friends, family, and your neighbors. The air is cooler, the leaves are a rainbow of colors, and you get to wear sweaters and long pants. It’s the little things in life, right? Also, Thanksgiving is a time for eating. It’s not just eating a simple meal, no. It’s about having friends, family, and perhaps even new guests into your home and eating a buffet of delicious food that never seems to end. If it was healthy and I could manage it, I would eat Thanksgiving meals twice a week.

Look Who Will Be in the Live Action Lion King Remake!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 10th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Unfortunately, Disney is remaking The Lion King in the form of a live-action debacle, similar to the recent horrid turd of a film Beauty and the Beast. Fortunately though, they have Jon Favreau in the director’s chair. I trust him. He gave us Iron Man and the recent live-action remake of The Jungle Book, which was loads better than that Beast movie. There are literally no humans in The Lion King story, unlike Jungle Book or Beauty and the Beast and if it follows the same pattern with the same exact camera shots and songs as its animated predecessor, it’s more than likely going to lose whatever emotion and lovable quality it had in the lifeless eyes of the CGI live-action animals.

Hey guys, Jana here,

taron-egerton

Lucasfilm and Disney are making some big announcements today. One being that M and Steven Spielberg are back for another sequel to Indiana Jones, you can read about that here. The next being that they are closing in on their younger Han Solo for their solo film about the Star Wars hero. They haven’t landed on an actor, yet, but they have a short list of three actors that have made the finals in the selection process.

Movie Quotes

[when Calitri turns on the car crusher, Memphis points a gun at him]
Randall 'Memphis' Raines:
Shut it off!
Raymond Calitri:
You got 30 seconds to consider your options. One, you kill me, they kill you, your brother dies anyway.
Randall 'Memphis' Raines:
Shut it off!
Raymond Calitri:
Two, you lie, you accept the job, you run, I hunt you down, I kill you, I kill your brother, and I kill your mother for the aggravation you cause me. Three, you accept the job, you steal some cars, you make some money, and you be a big brother.
[Memphis surrenders]
Raymond Calitri:
8 A.M. Friday morning. The cars are on the boat, or your brother's in the coffin.
