Nov/2017

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner, but good news for everyone involved. Amazon is officially in business with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg in bringing the hit comic book series ‘The Boys‘ to the TV Series realm. The comic book started in 2006 and was written by Garth Ennis (‘Preacher‘) and focused on a group of people known as ‘The Boys‘ who set out to take out corrupt superheroes who destroy the lives of many while trying to do their jobs.

Hey guys, Jana here,

romero23f-3-web

If I wasn’t convinced before that when Hollywood discovers a money-making idea, it beats said idea until it’s dead, although in this case it’s dead to begin with. AMC has announced a new series for the network and it shambles in the footsteps of their mega-watt series, ‘The Walking Dead‘.

‘Preacher’ Has Found Their Jesse Custer!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 17th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

34_JesseCuster

It’s been a long time coming. That’s not an understatement either. I’m talking years and years in the making for this epic ‘Preacher‘ series from Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon. Formally a DC Vertigo comic book from 1996-2000, several networks and production companies have tried to get this off the ground either into a movie adaptation or a tv series.

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 3rd, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

preacher__140206194142

Here is another step in the right direction to finally get one of the best comic books ever put on television. The 1990’s comic book ‘Preacher‘ by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon was picked up by the popular network AMC (‘Breaking Bad‘, ‘Walking Dead‘, ‘Mad Men‘). We have also reported that Seth Rogen and his writing partner Evan Goldberg were attached to produce and write the script for this new television series. Well, good news has come. AMC has greenlit and ordered a pilot episode of ‘Preacher‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

preacher

I don’t want to believe any of this, because I’ve been hurt and burned so many times with this project, that I don’t think my mind, body, soul, and testicles can take it anymore. There have been countless attempts to adapt the comic book series ‘Preacher‘ by Garth Ennis for years now. We’ve even written about it on this site many times. Now, it seems that there is finally some steam and a new company wanting to develop this amazing and sadistic story. And that company is AMC.

More “Preacher” News Again!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 16th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here…

It seems like going on about ten years now, that the BEST COMIC BOOK EVER, has been tried and tried again to become a feature film or television series.  Nothing ever has come of it.  It seems that director D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye, Taking Lives, The Shield) will direct the long awaited “Preacher” adaptation.  This depends on how well his upcoming film “I am Number Four” does at the box office according to SlashFilm.

Comic Book Spotlight – 11/13/10

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 13th, 2010

Drew here…

Between teaching science and preparing for a new baby to enter our family soon, this fall season has been incredibly busy for me.  My goal is to write weekly comic reviews, though it’s all I can do to keep up with the books on my pull list each week right now.  So in compromise, I will offer some weekly spotlights until I can get into a different routine.  It’s no secret that I love comic books and there are actually very few that I’ve ever truly despised.  I love every genre of the comic art form, and I’m always open to suggestions.  Here are a couple of books I’ve read this week that you might want to check out:
