Hey guys, Jana here,

Edward+Norton+David+Sampliner+My+Own+Man+Premiere+P5NGn7dU-lQl

As original documentaries go, there are thousands of them covering any and all topics you could imagine and probably a lot that you wouldn’t want to imagine. If you’re in love with inanimate objects, partial to animals as bed-mates or you just want to check in with the oldest set of twins working as prostitutes. I know these things so you don’t have to. You’re welcome

Edward Norton Turns to ‘Motherless Brooklyn’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 21st, 2014

Jana B. here,

Edward Norton

Edward Norton is an exceptional and compelling actor, writer and filmmaker, and has decided on his next project. Well, he decided 15 years ago, it just took time to get his vision crystal clear before it could be put to celluloid. That time is now. What is this mysterious project, you ask? The film treatment of the Jonathan Lethem novel of critical acclaim, ‘Motherless Brooklyn‘. You know how you read a book and hope someone takes that vision and puts it directly onto screen? Don’t hold your breath for that happening with this novel. While taking the source material mostly straight across there are going to be some major changes. One of those changes is Lethem’s novel takes place in 1999, or at least contemporary New York. Norton is setting his story in 1954, a time of great change in the city.

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 20th, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

Screen Shot 2016-04-20 at 3.04.37 PM

I had a very fun and lively interview with David Arquette (Scream) and director Asiel Norton for their new film ‘Orion‘ at the Dallas International Film Festival. We discussed making the post-apocalyptic film where Arquette plays a Hunter who rescues a Virgin and tries to save the world. After talking about the film for a little bit, I had to ask David about his career, and that’s where things got fun.

oscarsnominationsheader

We are only a few days away from the 87th annual Oscar ceremony, which airs live this Sunday. Again, we will be delivering a live commentary full of jokes, trivia, facts, winners, losers, and giving away free gifts throughout the night. So please, keep it right here during the Oscars and use the hashtag #boomstickcomics when posting to social media. But, let’s talk about predictions for a minute. I’m sure some of you have put some money down on Oscar pools at works or with your friends to see who comes out the winner this year. There were some excellent movies this year along with some amazing performances, so needless to say, this year will be extremely difficult to predict.

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 7th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

We have done quite a bit of coverage on this project over the last few months.  At one point David O. Russell was slated to be the director of the adapted video game, but dropped out.  Since Russell dropped out, Sony has been hot and heavy in pursuit of a new director.  Needless to say they have high hopes and intentions for this film.  Well, Sony finally has decided on a director, and he is Neil Burger.

Film Review: ‘Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie’!!

by Janet White on Jul 22nd, 2016

Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

Absolutely Fabulous - P & E

At long last, the quirky and off the wall TV show comes to the big screen. Personally, I never knew about Absolutely Fabulous the TV show, but the pre-awareness of this show was quite evident in the audience. I was surrounded by a cacophony of hoots and yells from the show’s loyal following which lasted the duration of the film.   Read the rest of this entry »

Hey guys, Jana here,

Gervais_01_1338413a

Ricky Gervais made an announcement today that will rock the world of fans of the original UK mockumentary ‘The Office‘. Gervais appeared on ‘the ‘Opie with Jim Norton Show‘ and dropped the news that he has another film coming up titled ‘David Brent: Life On The Road‘ and Netflix will be it’s home. Gervais has a great outlook on the project landing at Netflix , he’d rather 20 million people see it than half a million in theaters because he will be able to do tours off the back of it.

Jana’s Best/Worst of 2014!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Dec 15th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

It’s been a big year for the entertainment world. Netflix’s initial push to bring movie-theater worthy films straight to streaming customers and bypassing the big screen altogether set off a chain of deals that will take those fresh releases and push them directly into homes allowing us to bypass a $15.00 soda, but denying us the $20.00 popcorn you can only get at the theater. Then came the deluge of series and movies being made for exclusive run with everyone from Netflix, Amazon to Crackle and everything in between. Top that off with the huge breach of privacy Sony experienced. New releases were flooded onto P2P sharing sites and private emails from the film company’s big wigs that show us how the infrastructure of Sony really works, not to mention what those involved really think of some of their superstars.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Fight Club (1999) Edward Norton and Brad Pitt (Screengrab)

The Multi-Media Men are back with the 46th episode that covers all things in the entertainment industry. We had a great adventure this time around and had tons to discuss. Joining me is Adam Conway from the Angelika Film CenterSusan Kamyab from This Chix Flix, and Gadi Elkon from Selig Film News, and Andrew Conway . It was a lot of fun to say the least. We discuss what movie we want to see the porn version of, a custom game of ‘FUCK-MARRY-KILL’ , ‘The IT Crowd‘, Javier Bardem, ‘Breaking Bad‘, Steve Jobs, DC Comics, and a ‘Fight Club‘ Re-Cast, and the Elite 8 of our infamous HORROR MOVIE BRACKET. For our Horror Movie Bracket, we had professor Paul Nimon pair and seed it this time, to which blood was drawn between our podcasters on who should move to the next round. It got crazy. Let us know if you agree or missed anything. And please let us know what you think by going to our FACEBOOK page and TWITTER page, which you should visit to catch up on all the latest information. Film Review: ‘Birdman’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 22nd, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

and-the-oscar-goes-to-could-birdman-be-the-first-superhero-movie-nominated-for-best-picture

It’s a very rare occurrence where a film changes the game on almost every aspect of filmmaking. From acting to camerawork, ‘Birdman‘ literally soars above the rest where fierce emotions of erratic actors are put on display in a chaotic yet darkly comedic setting inside the St. James Theatre on West 44th Street in Manhattan. Not only do these actors turn in Oscar-worthy performances of the highest order, but director Alejandro G. Inarritu (Amores Perros) and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki have given us an image so fresh and that pushes the bounds, that this is one of the most pleasing films of the year, visually speaking and unlike anything you might have seen before. Lubezki has worked with Alfonso Cauron on ‘Children of Men‘ and the recent film ‘Gravity‘.
