Hey guys, Jana here,

from-hell-main

From Hell‘ may sound like the name of a Johnny Depp film from the early 2000’s and you would be right. What began as a 500 page graphic novel by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell, then re-worked into a 20th Century Fox film starring Depp and Robbie Coltrane. There may be a bit of a detective vibe here but don’t expect a Sherlock-type reveal. Where Jack the Ripper was quite selective of his victims, the murders themselves created an equality among the classes with fear being the common denominator. Thus ends today’s master class in ‘From Hell‘.

His films include ‘Slacker‘, ‘School of Rock‘, the ‘Before‘ series, ‘Bernie‘, and the iconic and legendary piece of cinema ‘Dazed and Confused‘. Are you upset that you won’t be seeing Don Draper & Co. returning to the small screen this fall? Yeah…me, too. At least we can all thank Netflix for streaming the first four seasons of “Mad Men” until Season 5 starts next year.

Even though I’ve seen all four seasons of “Mad Men” about a zillion times (so far), I can also get my Swingin’ 60s fix from the Ramsey Lewis Trio and their incredible “Bach To The Blues” LP. Read the rest of this entry »

Take a Look at Pixar’s ‘Brave’ Trailer!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 27th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

If you have seen ‘Cars 2’ or you pan on seeing ‘Cars 2’, then you will most likely see Pixar’s upcoming new film called ‘Brave’.  “Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida’s quest — and serving as comic relief — are the kingdom’s three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).”  Well here is a look at the teaser trailer for ‘Brave’.  It looks fantastic.

Hi Bryan Here….

We wrote about Pixar’s new film ‘Brave a while ago which you can find here and see some screen shots.  The teaser trailer should be in front of ‘Cars 2’.  Poster looks great.  What do you think?

EW describes the film as:

Brave is set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). An unruly daughter and an accomplished archer, Merida one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. Here’s A Peak At Pixar’s New Film, “Brave”!!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 28th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here….

While I love every Pixar film thus far, I find myself having a hard time getting really amped up for Cars 2.  Don’t get me wrong, I am excited for Cars 2, but I am not that enthused about it.  But for Pixar’s next film which is called “Brave”, I am whole heartedly excited and much thrilled about their new story of a dark fairy tale.
