by Red Zeppelbon on Jun 9th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

bruce-campbell-emmy-ad

We’ve all been inundated with bids for our votes lately, national politics, school board nominees and now…the Emmy’s? I’m getting sick of the ads and the smear campaigns that are prevalent everywhere and I don’t want to see another candidate stumping – except this one. Bruce Campbell makes everything groovy, including vying for an Emmy nomination.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Screen-Shot-2014-06-29-at-12.29.07-AM

If you’re sad that TBS canceled ‘King of the Nerds‘ after 3 seasons, rest a little easier knowing that another reality competition series is amping up and shopping for networks to host the game show that will be very similar to the formula KOTN used with one little twist – Take out the “nerd” and sub in “horror”!!!

We’ve reported before that Bruce Campbell and Wizard World have collaborated in bringing ‘Last Fan Standing‘, a game show for the nerds among us to life. It makes Comic-Cons more awesome because that’s where they film, and it makes reality TV so much more fun as it’s part of Wizard World’s ConTV. Bruce has run into a problem and needs our help though!

Bruce Campbell is back as Ash. He’s re-attaching the chainsaw and gripping his boomstick once again as he faces a deadite invasion after a 30 year lull in the action. Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

showbiz-bruce-campbell-2

I knew there would be a day where we would have another ‘Evil Dead‘ and ‘Army of Darkness‘ project, starring Bruce ‘man-god’ Campbell, which is for sure happening. Read about that story HERE. But I also knew there would be a glorious day where America’s finest actor would get the opportunity to play the President of the United States. Fortunately for all of us, that day has come as Bruce will play Ronald Reagan in the upcoming 2nd season of ‘Fargo‘ for FX.

Hey guys, Jana here,

For years, fans of the cult horror film franchise ‘The Evil Dead‘ may have uttered Ash’s line,  “You bastards, why are you torturing me like this? Why?” when we hear rumblings of new films in the works. Starz has made an announcement today that will breathe new life into the dead series. We told you earlier that the premium channel was looking at the films as inspiration for an adaptation to series.

Bruce Campbell Will Star in ‘Evil Dead’ Series!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 29th, 2014
Hey guys, Jana here,

evil-dead-2-crazy-ash-27

Looks like Sam Raimi was holding a little something back when he spoke about his ‘Last Of Us‘ project at Comic-Con. Raimi was excited about his new project, and added a little info that he and his brother, Ivan Raimi were co-writing ‘The Evil Dead‘ TV show with Bruce Campbell. While this is  great news for fans of ‘The Evil Dead‘, it managed to get even better. How could this get better? Campbell, who was the star of the original trilogy, confirmed on Twitter that he intends to star in the series!

Bruce Campbell to Make Sequel to My Name is Bruce

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 8th, 2010

Bruce “Man-God” Campbell told Hero Complex that there will be a sequel to “My Name is Bruce” called “Bruce vs. Frankenstein”.  This comes as kind of a shock to me since he turned down the sequel to “Bubba Ho-Tep”.

Upon further reading it seems the truth came out as to why he is choosing to do “Bruce vs. Frankenstein”.  Well “Bruce vs. Frankenstein according to Bruce will be “The Expendables” of Horror.

Here is what Bruce had to say: “Yeah, [it’s] “The Expendables,” or more like the “It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World” of horror. I want to get so many horror movie stars that people can’t possibly not see the movie. I want to give them other stuff to do. I want to have Kane Hodder be very particular about what he eats. I want Robert Englund to be a tough guy, like he knows tae kwon do or something. I want to find out the hidden sides of all these people. Some will play themselves, some will play alternate characters as well. I may approach Kane Hodder to play Frankenstein. He could be Kane Hodder himself fighting himself as Frankenstein. It could be crazy. It’s a silly concocted story that we hope to do maybe in a year or so. My breaks between “Burn Notice” have been getting tighter because they’ve been adding episodes. They’re trying to trap me like a rat in the TV world, and I might just let them. There’s a script, it just kind of blows right now, so no one’s really seeing it. We gotta work on it. Definitely shoot in Oregon all on a stage. It’s like the “300? of horror comedies. We want to make it a whole world. Someone’s gotta take Frank down for good.”

This sounds like it will be the BEST horror comedy film since “The Lost Boys”.  Hopefully they can get an excellent working script.

Check out the “My Name is Bruce” DVD for some good laughs.

Bruce Campbell makes another appearance on blu-ray

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 30th, 2010

Finally the first in the epic trilogy will be released in High-Definition tomorrow.  Blu ray is so amazing and I cannot wait to see how this movie looks.  I am of course talking about The Evil Dead.  The film that brought Bruce Campbell from ordinary man to a man-god.  He is uncle sam’s favorite actor and he is such a joy to watch in pretty much everything.

Sam Raimi made this film while in college with friends on a low low budget. According to Stephen King it was the Ultimate in Grueling Terror.  He wasn’t lying.

I will update you with my blu ray review of this soon.  Looking froward to the new commentary by Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell.

Happy New Year, everyone. It’s gonna be a super-sweet 2020 full of thrilling, funny, horrific, and romantic movies and I’m not talking about 2019’s CATS either. As far as this past year though, I would like to take you on a journey below and give you some of my most favorite moments from 2019’s cinema slate and of course some of my most favorite, cherry-picked films of the year. It’s gonna be a wild ride too with some unexpected choices below. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

‘The Evil Dead’ 4K UHD Review!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 11th, 2018

Perhaps the best horror film of all time and most certainly the most magnificent cult film of all time that gave us Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi to the world – ‘The Evil Dead‘ from 1981 is truly an extraordinary movie. This super low budget film with tons of gore spawned two sequels, a remake, and even a very successful 3-season tv series on Starz, not to mention countless toys, comics, and video games based off the film. Sam Raimi was just in his 20s when he made this movie with his family and friends, all shot on location in the middle of the woods, much to the chagrin of the actors. They powered through it and it became a huge success with big financing for a movie of this caliber and a winning review from the horror master himself Stephen King.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Phantasm IV: Oblivion’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 27th, 2018

The ‘Phantasm‘ series is legendary with filmmaker Don Corsacelli and his villain the Tall Man front and center. What’s fun about this series of horror films is that each sequel starts off right where the previous movie left off. This fourth film had an insane pre-production history. Roger Avery of ‘Pulp Fiction‘ and ‘Rules of Attraction‘ actually wrote a screenplay for this 4th film where it centered on a post-apocalyptic future world. It even was set to star Bruce Campbell too.

‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ Season 3 Trailer is Groovy!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 18th, 2018

‘Ash vs Evil Dead’ Season 3 is returning to Starz on February 25th with 10 new episodes in what looks like the best season yet of the bloody-as-hell, hilarious, and best show in the entire world. I never thought I needed to hear Bruce Campbell say that he used his chainsaw hand to kill demons and monsters, but now he uses it to slash prices at his new job. I nearly died.

Even the bad ones. These movies have touched us in some way and have helped shaped our creative lives. Maybe this list will inspire you to make your own list and share it with us. Blu-ray Review: GET OUT!

by Gumbercules9000 on May 25th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

NE2UEHKXb05S62_1_1

THE FILM

When you say the name Jordan Peele, you would most likely think of the brilliant comedic stylings of Key and Peele or Peele’s time on MadTV. You might even crack a big smile, thinking of Peele’s recent film Keanu. But I’m willing to bet you wouldn’t think of the words “horror maestro” when you see Jordan Peele’s name come across the screen. And that’s exactly what Peele can add to his resume résumé with his new movie Get Out, which he wrote and directed for the genre mogul Blumhouse.
