Hi Bryan Here…

Director/Writer/Producer Brad Bird (Ratatouille, The Incredibles, The Simpsons, and the upcoming Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol film) accepted an award he got for excellence in animation, but was not able to attend the ceremony due to him being held captive by a couple of really suspicious people (Simon Pegg and Tom Cruise) at gun point.

Hi Bryan Here….

WOW.  This was a mighty mighty fun blu-ray set to get through.  Took a while as there are hours and hours of extras and commentaries to listen and watch.  It was great watching all of these again.  Some greater than others.  I haven’t watched all of the Superman films since that tin DVD box set came out several years ago.  Oh man do these newly remastered blu-rays look fucking beautiful in HI-DEF.  So, this particular review will be set up by film.  I will go through all eight discs of the set and outline everything you would ever want to know about them.  From the movie itself to the extras and the audio and video quality.  This is one hell of a set and Warner Bros. and DC went above and beyond the call of making one AWESOME home video release in Superman.

Film Review: ‘The Incredibles 2’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 13th, 2018

The Parr family is back in action in ‘The Incredibles 2‘ with more action, wit, and spectacular visuals that is guaranteed to thrill and entertain everyone who watches. It’s been 14 years since we last saw the Parr family come to terms with being superheroes in a world that doesn’t want them. Pixar really took a chance on their first outing with superheroes in hiring an outsider in Brad Bird to take the helm back in 2004. Before then, it was only Pixar people who got to make Pixar films, but with ‘The Incredibles‘, Pixar took Bird in as their own, most likely due to Bird’s amazing film ‘The Iron Giant‘. The result was magnificent with an intimate portrait of a family with love and problems all the same. Not only that, Bird set the story in the 1960’s in a noir spy thriller type of genre, complete with a fantastic score to go along with the time. I just can’t believe it’s taken this long to get a sequel.

I’ve got an “INCREDIBLE” update for you!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jan 23rd, 2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

The Incredibles‘ are making a comeback and Disney released character portraits in the most trendy, pop culture-ish way possible, as selfies matched with their artistic counter-part. Google’s Arts and Culture app has been the new driving force powering social media and everyone is doing it. I even tried to get a match on my dog, Duke, aka John Wayne, but there’s not recognition for pets, yet. Along with the images of the voice actors, we see stylized artwork of their on-screen persona, and it’s awesome to see anything coming from Disney Pixar about the upcoming sequel. But that’s not all they’ve given us. We get four new images, but we also get some plot details!

Finally coming to Blu-ray is the 1999 instant classic, ‘The Iron Giant‘! Winner of 9 Annie Awards, remastered and enhanced with two brand-new scenes, Iron Giant tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between an alien robot from outer space, with a voice by Vin Diesel, and a rebellious boy named Hogarth (Eli Marienthal), his bedraggled mom (Jennifer Aniston), a paranoid government agent (Christopher McDonald), and a sympathetic beatnik (Harry Conick, Jr.) who all work together to turn director Brad Bird’s story into a gigantic, out-of-this-world adventure.

Blu-ray Review: ‘Tomorrowland’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 15th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

THE FILM

There’s one hell of a cast and crew at work here for Disney’s ‘Tomorrowland‘, which is loosely based on the famous theme park at Disney resorts. Directed by Brad Bird (‘The Incredibles‘, ‘Ratatouille), produced by Damon Lindelof (‘Lost‘ and ‘Star Trek‘), and starring George ClooneyHugh Laurie, and Britt Robertson, ‘Tomorrowland‘ is a throwback to those old innovative Disney films full of adventure. I felt like a kid again through its two hour run time as I was watching each suspenseful and fun moment on the IMAX screen. That being said, ‘Tomorrowland‘ does have a few problems, but fortunately the good outweighs the bad this time around.

Bryan’s Most Anticipated Films for 2011!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 7th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here…

So 2010 is over and 2011 has just begun.  I was recently talking with a friend and we both agreed that 2010 was kind of a let down as far as movies went.  Don’t get me wrong, there were some precious gems riddled throughout the year, but they were not many.  Basically I said, that it was a very uncool year with flashes of coolness in regards to films.

“LOST” Actor Joins Cast of Mission Impossible 4

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 28th, 2010

Josh Halloway who played Sawyer on LOST has joined Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner for the 4th installment of Mission Impossible.

Filming begins soon in Dubai with Brad Bird directing.  Brad Bird directed Pixar’s The Incredibles and Ratatouille.  It will be interesting to see how he takes on this franchise.  I have faith in him.

Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames will be returning as the IMF team members as well as J.J. Abrams who directed the third film will be taking on the role as producer as well as coming up with the story.

Warner Bros. Is Developing ‘Space Jam 2’!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 24th, 2014

Jana B. here,

Space Jam

Over the weekend, a very trusted news source in Hollywood called Deadline, ran a news story that said, “Lebron James was going to star in the upcoming ‘Space Jam‘ sequel. The article mentioned producers and a studio, which was Warner Bros. A day or so later, Lebron and a couple of people on the NBA side and close to Lebron’s camp refuted the story and basically said this wasn’t happening. But the wording they used was confusing. The sources said that there have been no “substantive discussions”, which means, the deals are not made yet, however talks have happened. It seems like Warner Bros. is definitely making a ‘Space Jam‘ sequel, and they want  Lebron to star in it, but again, no deals have been made yet. In my personal opinion, I think Shaq should star rather than Lebron. Or just get Jordan back. He’s not doing anything. Below is the original story.
