‘The Shee’ Re-teams Director Ciaran Foy With Powerhouse Blumhouse Prods!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Blumhouse Productions has made good business in bringing the scary to film-goers and they’re keeping the tradition alive by re-creating the chemistry that is set to make ‘Sinister 2‘ a spectacular fall hit when it releases, teaming with director Ciaran Foy.The first ‘Sinister‘ had a budget of only $3,000,000 and recouped over $48,000,000, more than $18,000,000 of that in the opening weekend, alone.
Blumhouse Acquires ‘Free Fall’ From ‘Getaway’ Scribes!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Blumhouse Productions have acquired, on spec, the latest project from Sean Finegan and Gregg Maxwell Parker. The same duo that scripted ‘Getaway‘, the 2013 thriller that starred Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez and Jon Voight and featured a Shelby Super Snake Mustang, driven by Hawke at breakneck speeds and wrecked so many cars that a junkyard was set up on scene just to repair vehicles. ‘Free Fall‘ won’t have the vehicular overhead ‘Getaway‘ required, the scares and thrills will be achieved by different means.
Blumhouse Prods. Bringing David Berkowitz Mini-Series To Life!!!
Hey guys, Jana here,
Few things entertain me more than a good serial killer book/movie/TV show. I know, it’s a strange interest to have, but this is one of the milder interests of mine. We’ve heard about the Charles Manson slayings going into production for a series with Rob Zombie involved, this time it’s another killer that is getting the mini-series treatment. David Berkowitz, Son of Sam, the .44 Caliber Killer – whatever you want to call him, he’s the next topic for a mini treatment.

Software App Review: ‘Film Budgeteers’!
THE PROGRAM
When preparing to make a movie, short film, or TV series, there are quite possibly a million things that you will have to decide on and plan in advance to get the ball rolling to execute your vision on screen. Actors, crew members, marketing, sets, props, makeup, hair-styling, food, lighting, cameras, and tons of other aspects are required to make a movie. Unless you’re making a movie in your own home, by yourself with your iPhone, I’m willing to bet your film – no matter how big or small it is, will require you to pony up some money for it to be made. Now, pretty much all films have a budget. A budget can be as small as $5000 or can be as huge as $250 million. You’re going to have to budget and not go over your budget in order for you film to work. So how can you work out a film budget on paper that shows where all the money is going to? Usually, you would hire someone for that, but there’s a new app in town called ‘Film Budgeteers‘, which essentially does all the work for you.

Blu-ray Review: GET OUT!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
THE FILM
When you say the name Jordan Peele, you would most likely think of the brilliant comedic stylings of Key and Peele or Peele’s time on MadTV. You might even crack a big smile, thinking of Peele’s recent film Keanu. But I’m willing to bet you wouldn’t think of the words “horror maestro” when you see Jordan Peele’s name come across the screen. And that’s exactly what Peele can add to his resume résumé with his new movie Get Out, which he wrote and directed for the genre mogul Blumhouse.

Another ‘Halloween’ Remake is Coming From Danny McBride and David Gordon Green!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
We’ve talked about a ‘Halloween‘ remake before here. Hell, Rob Zombie even made two remakes of ‘Halloween‘, which really didn’t live up to anything that resembled a horror film. But that was long ago and we like to forget such films ever took place. The original horror master and filmmaker John Carpenter, who made the original film is putting together a reincarnation of his own film and just announced that Danny McBride and David Gordon Green will be writing and directing the new film. As you probably already know, McBride and Green have a long lasting relationship, as they both worked on ‘Pineapple Express’, ‘Eastbound and Down’, and the recent ‘Vice Principals’.
A New Film Festival Will Open at ‘The Shining’ Hotel!
Hi everyone, Bryan here…
Good news, everyone. There is a new horror genre film festival looking to scare people next year, which will be called ‘The Overlook Film Festival‘ and will start on April 27th at Oregon’s Timberline Lodge, which was used (exterior shots) for Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’. Festival heads Michael Lerman and Landon Zakheim announced the event this Halloween and are planning on bringing classic films, new films, experimental events, and interactive fun to the Timberline Hotel. This first year will be a four day event and looks to be quite fun as it is being put on by a ton of people from the Alamo Drafthouse and ‘Fantastic Fest‘.
Film Review: ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil’!
Hi everyone, Bryan here….
It’s Halloween season and the big horror movie studio Blumhouse has released another film in their canon franchise with their famous business plan. That movie is ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil‘, which is a prequel to ‘Ouija‘ from 2014. I know. I get suspicious too when a studio wants to start telling prequel stories to the masses. Most of the time, they don’t work, but Blumhouse and filmmaker Mike Flanagan (Oculus) really raised the bar with this prequel that is terrifying, fun, and connects the original film nicely, despite some silly problems here and there.
