The director who brought us ‘Gravity‘, ‘Children of Men‘, ‘Y Tu Mama Tambien‘, and the best Harry Potter film is now playing with the horror genre, which just excites me to the end of the Earth. You mean to tell me, that Alfonso Cuarón who has terrified us with outer space and women not having babies will take the horror genre on head first? I’m so in.

Film Review: ‘Birdman’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 22nd, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

and-the-oscar-goes-to-could-birdman-be-the-first-superhero-movie-nominated-for-best-picture

It’s a very rare occurrence where a film changes the game on almost every aspect of filmmaking. From acting to camerawork, ‘Birdman‘ literally soars above the rest where fierce emotions of erratic actors are put on display in a chaotic yet darkly comedic setting inside the St. James Theatre on West 44th Street in Manhattan. Not only do these actors turn in Oscar-worthy performances of the highest order, but director Alejandro G. Inarritu (Amores Perros) and cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki have given us an image so fresh and that pushes the bounds, that this is one of the most pleasing films of the year, visually speaking and unlike anything you might have seen before. Lubezki has worked with Alfonso Cauron on ‘Children of Men‘ and the recent film ‘Gravity‘.

Hi, Bryan Here….

James-Cameron-directing-Avatar

James Cameron has confirmed that he will begin work in 2017 on a new project titled ‘Battle Angel‘, a project he has wanted and talked about doing for some time now. Hi Bryan Here…

I was about 13 years old when Stephen King’s The Stand debuted on primetime television back in 1994.  It has been one of my favorite Stephen King books as well as made for tv adaptations of king’s work to date.  Plus it introduced me to the acting talent of Gary Sinise.  Back then and even today, I thought that The Stand was too BIG for just TV.  I mean it is such an epic story that deserves a huge budget and a silver screen opportunity.  Well it seems like some execs have the same feeling.

Film Review: ‘Gravity’!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 3rd, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

gravity-debris

If ‘Gravity‘ was the last movie I saw before I died, I would die happy. This is hands down, the best film of the year so far, and quite possibly the best film of the last several years. Alfonso Cuaron has come back with a vengeance after a seven year hiatus. Cauron directed ‘Children of Men‘ and the third ‘Harry Potter‘ film to name a couple. I know all of you have seen the trailer for this film, and let me just say, you’re in the for the most thrilling ride of your life.
