Hollywood is Remaking ‘The Raid: Redemption’!

One of the best action films of all time is getting remade. That’s right, Gareth Evans‘ ‘The Raid: Redemption‘ from 2011 is getting remade from XYZ Films, who surprisingly made the original film. Before we yell “Hell-Fire and Damn” on everything, let’s take a look at what we know. Gareth Evans himself is backing and producing this remake with Joe Carnahan (The Grey) directing ¬†Frank Grillo (The Purge 2) in the lead role. I’m all for this remake now. Carnahan also made ‘Smokin’ Aces‘, the remake of ‘The A-Team‘, and ‘Narc‘, which is to say the least is an impressive resume.

XX‘, A horror anthology from an all-female lineup of filmmakers opens in theaters and on VOD February 17, 2017¬†coming from Magnet Releasing & XYZ Films. The 2017 Sundance Film Festival will host the film’s world premiere.

Hi everyone, Bryan here…


Good news, everyone. There is a new horror genre film festival looking to scare people next year, which will be called ‘The Overlook Film Festival‘ and will start on April 27th at Oregon’s Timberline Lodge, which was used (exterior shots) for Stanley Kubrick’s ‘The Shining’. Festival heads Michael Lerman and Landon Zakheim announced the event this Halloween and are planning on bringing classic films, new films, experimental events, and interactive fun to the Timberline Hotel. This first year will be a four day event and looks to be quite fun as it is being put on by a ton of people from the Alamo Drafthouse and ‘Fantastic Fest‘.

Attack Force Z is coming to Blu-ray!

Hi everyone, Bryan here….

Back in 1982, there was an Australian WWII film that was released that was called Attack Force Z. It starred the unknown actors Mel Gibson and Sam Neill, who both went on to be big blockbuster stars in Hollywood. You got to think that Gibson used his knowledge and memories on this film for his own movie Hacksaw Ridge. Now, the film is getting its Blu-ray release with a new 4K scan and new extras.
