Feb/2018

Hey guys, Jana here,

Straight from it’s dynamic debut where it premiered January 21, 2018, at the Sundance Film Festival in the Midnight section, comes ‘Hereditary‘ to theaters nation wide June 8th, 2018. It’s a combination drama/mystery/horror film that will make anyone take a second look at their family. The writer director Ari Aster is the man behind this film, both from his pen and his artistic vision that brought the project to fruition. This is Aster’s first feature length film after helming and writing   a handful of short films. With positive reviews coming in, it seems his first attempt at a full length film was a success, at least that’s what the 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes would suggest. I’m sure that’s a relief for PalmStar Media (‘Collateral Beauty‘), Windy Hill Pictures, and A24 (‘Lady Bird‘, ‘The Florida Project‘, ‘The Disaster Artist‘) who were the production companies backing the flick.

‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ Trailer Is Awesome!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 20th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

MV5BMjM4NjE2NjE3MF5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwNTM4MDk0OTE@._V1_

xXx: Return of Xander Cage‘ is pretty much what it sounds like, a third film in the xXx line and this will be the second one to feature Vin Diesel. He starred in the original film in 2002 that spawned an exciting franchise. Though his character is stated to have died in the second film which starred Ice Cube, that appears to be an untruth that Cage uses to his advantage this time around.

Daniel Radcliffe Wows In Trailer For ‘Imperium’!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Jul 6th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

MV5BMTk3Njg1NzQxMV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTgwMzg3NjUzOTE@._V1_SY1000_CR0,0,648,1000_AL_

Daniel Radcliffe may have began his acting career by stepping into our hearts as the boy wizard Harry Potter, but he’s not limited as an actor. He’s got range and he’s showing that off with ‘Imperium‘. He takes on a convincing American accent and I can’t wait to see this one! Co-starring Toni Collette and Burn Gorman with Sam Trammell. We’ve only got to wait until August 19.

Film Review: ‘Hector and the Search For Happiness’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 25th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

hector-and-the-search-for-happiness-Simon-Pegg

You can’t help but love Simon Pegg. His roles in Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy ‘Shaun of The Dead‘, ‘Hot Fuzz‘, and ‘The World’s End‘ are legendary. His work on the recent ‘Star Trek‘ films, ‘Paul‘, and in the ‘Mission Impossible‘ films have been excellent and very comical. That aside, i love seeing Pegg work on dramatic films, because not only is he one of the best comedic actors around right now, but he is also one hell of a dramatic actor, and his new film ‘Hector and the Search for Happiness‘ highlights that.

Film Review: ‘Tammy’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 3rd, 2014

Hillary T., Here…

Tammy-5

From start to finish, Tammy had me. Had me laughing hysterically that is. I was in tears from when the opening scene started with the Outfield playing loudly in a boombox in a beat up Corolla being driven by Melissa McCarthy in a fast food uniform. She slams into a deer on her way to work at her dead end job, and well, it only gets funnier from there. This movie was made for McCarthy, literally, by her husband Ben Falcone and McCarthy herself, and it shows their combined comic talents.

Amazon Announces 4 Pilots Green-lit for Series!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Mar 13th, 2014

Hello Jana here,

 dt.common.streams.StreamServer

Amazon jumped head-first into original programming with 5 pilots that were uploaded to their site where they encouraged viewers to watch and comment their opinions. I’m guessing they got the reaction they wanted as they have now picked four of the titles to give a series order. This includes the first dramas for their fledgling, innovative line-up with ‘The After‘ and ‘Bosch‘. Their new comedy series are ‘Mozart In The Jungle‘ and ‘Transparent‘. The fifth pilot that was not picked up, ‘The Rebels‘ comes from Ice Cube and Michael Strahan. From Amazon’s first pilot season saw eight comedies going to pilot while only two were picked up for series, ‘Alpha House‘ and ‘Betas‘. Of those two, ‘Alpha House‘ has been renewed for a second season and ‘Betas‘ has been discontinued.

Film Review: ‘The Way Way Back’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jul 5th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

THE WAY, WAY BACK

Hot off the set of ‘The Descendants‘ with Director Alexander Payne and writers Jim Rash and Nat Faxon, along with their Oscar win, both Rash and Faxon get into the director’s chair for the first time with their incredible summer flick ‘The Way Way Back‘. The comedy duo pull triple duty on this film, serving as directors, writers, and actors, which is no easy feat. But they pull it off with grace, fun, and great comedy. This little flick with an all-star cast is easily in my top five movies of the year so far.

Hi, Bryan Here….

the-way-way-back

I had the distinct pleasure to sit down with writers/actors/directors Jim Rash and Nat Faxon a few weeks ago in Dallas to discuss their new amazing film, ‘The Way Way Back‘. They couldn’t have been nicer and we had a great conversation about the filmmaking process, some of their favorite movies, and much more.

Film Review: ‘Hitchcock’

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 25th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

One of the most prolific and well respected directors of all time, Alfred Hitchcock, is once again in the spotlight more than 30 years after his death.  Alfred Hitchcock has been the centerpiece for two projects as of recent.  The first being HBO’s ‘The Girl’ and now the feature film ‘Hitchcock’.  Whereas HBO’s ‘The Girl’ follows Hitchcock’s film ‘The Birds’, ‘Hitchcock’ centers around ‘Psycho’.  I can safely say that ‘Hitchcock’ is one of my favorite films of the year and Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren both deserve awards for their portrayals of Mr. and Mrs. Hitchcock.

Hi Bryan Here….

Now let me just say first off that I am a huge fan of the original 1985 film of the same name.  When I initially heard that they were remaking this horror classic, I was enthused yet a little apprehensive.  Then the casting came through and it was cast brilliantly.  Then the film opened and I believe I saw it opening weekend.  And I was pleasantly surprised by the film.  They did a decent job with most things.  However there were a few things I wish they did better.  But this 3D Bluray release from Dreamworks is pretty amazing.  If you are a fan of vampire horror, not the silly love vampire stories, but a fun and gory vampire horror thrill ride.  Then you will definitely need to take a bite out of this one.  (I know, that was too easy.)

Hi Bryan Here…

The trailer for the remake of ‘Fright Night’ is upon us and well….it looks different.  I don’t know if different is necessarily good, but I will say this.  It has one hell of an amazing cast.  Colin Farrell looks great as the head vampire lead and Toni Collette looks amazing as the mother.  Sadly there wasn’t much of Evil Ed played by McLovin’ aka Christopher Mintz-Plasse in the trailer, but hopefully in the coming trailers we will get a small glimpse of him as Evil Ed.

Hi Bryan Here….

You have probably heard that they are remaking the AWESOME 80’s vampire horror film, “Fright Night”  about a vampire bachelor who moves in next door to a kid and his mother.  The kid sees the guy next door turn into a vampire and kill people, but nobody believes the kid when he tells them what he saw.  Would you?

Bryan’s Most Anticipated Films for 2011!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jan 7th, 2011

Hi Bryan Here…

So 2010 is over and 2011 has just begun.  I was recently talking with a friend and we both agreed that 2010 was kind of a let down as far as movies went.  Don’t get me wrong, there were some precious gems riddled throughout the year, but they were not many.  Basically I said, that it was a very uncool year with flashes of coolness in regards to films.
