Hello Everyone, Janet W. here…

In the game of chess, there are rules. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, the brainchild of Stieg Larsson, has wowed and shocked audiences since 2009 when the novel and the Swedish version of the film of the same name were released. The heroine of these provocative tales, Lisbeth Salander, is a genius level conqueror/hacker with who fights injustice. In The Girl in the Spider’s Web, Salander (now portrayed by Claire Foy of the Netflix hit, The Crown, a huge mistake in my opinion) has taken vigilantism to a new level. Do not mess with this chick. ‘First Man’ Film Review #2!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 10th, 2018

Anytime I see a movie about space the technology seems effortless. Even in space disaster movies, the main character is one button or airlock away from safety. The technology and engineering are always #15 on the list of most movies set in space. Even movies like Apollo 13 romanticize space travel to a large degree and gloss over the real work it takes to even get up there. First Man takes a different approach to launch humans into space by making every single aspect of the space program of the 60s be, frankly, terrifying.

Film Review #2: ‘Avengers: Infinity War’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Apr 24th, 2018

Avengers: Infinity War isn’t just the next chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie is the culmination, better yet coronation, of the universe to this point. This is the film that will actually be remembered and talked about years from now. Ten years in the making, eighteen films deep, and at least 30 characters so that we could get here. It’s astonishing that they pulled this off. Infinity War, when all is said and done, will likely be the crowning achievement of this cinematic universe.
