Hi everyone, Bryan here…

BoxArt

THE FILM

LEGO sure has the market on DC films for kids. This film as the past direct-to-video films have incorporated almost all of the DC heroes to satisfy all fans for all ages. Packed with some great voice-talent that is recognizable to fans, this 78-minute ‘Justice League‘ story is quite entertaining, despite the chaotic pace and silliness. The full title of this film is ‘LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League – Gotham City Breakout‘ and has just about every DC superhero and villain showing up here, along with some new characters.

Hey guys, Jana here,

big-hero-6.34102

Big Hero 6‘ is headed to new life as an animated series on Disney XD and is set to premiere in 2017. This news leads me to ask one big question: Is Fall Out Boy going with it? I fully endorse a world where more kids are singing “Immortals” and less kids are singing “Let It Go“!

Hey guys, Jana here,

Radar_Charlize_Theron_Mad_Max_4

If you had to pick a leading female actor to play the villain in what’s largely been a male dominated franchise, like for the eighth installment of the ‘Fast and Furious‘ franchise, who would it be? If it were me, I might look at the star of  ‘Mad Max: Fury Road‘, Charlize Theron. She was a welcome addition to the George Miller film which has gained multiple Oscar nominees.

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

image001

Disney’s latest CG animated film ‘Big Hero 6‘ is making its way to Blu-ray on February 24th. In addition, you’ll be able to watch the film digitally on February 3rd, which is more than 20 days prior to the physical release. I was a pretty big fan of ‘Big Hero 6‘, as you can read HERE, and I’m super excited that I’ll get to watch the animated short again ‘Feast‘, when this comes out. And according to this release, there will be options for 3D and 2D, but I can’t seem to find the 3D version anywhere to pre-order. Below are the tech specs and bonus features for the release.

Film Review: ‘Big Hero Six’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 6th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

Disney’s CG animation department is on a huge winning streak. With the success of ‘Wreck It Ralph‘ and ‘Frozen‘, Disney is back in the animation game after a long absence while Pixar did their thing. Dinsey’s latest animated adventure is called ‘Big Hero 6‘, and is based off an old Marvel Comics title. I can safely say that ‘Big Hero 6‘ is a big winner and continues Disney’s streak of success.

Sony Plans To Make Female-Driven Superhero Movie!!!

by Red Zeppelbon on Aug 5th, 2014

Hey guys, Jana here,

PicMonkey Collage

It would seem the collective consensus thinks the film-watching world is ready for a female driven superhero movie. I’m not so sure about the idea. Sure, it’s a hot time for leading ladies, but we can’t forget the horrors of the past that quickly. Of course I’m talking about the two names most synonymous with crappy female superhero movie attempts – Halle Berry’sCatwoman‘ and ‘Elektra‘ starring Jennifer Garner. The films were poorly written and the leads were unable to connect the acting with the characters. Maybe it’s the Marvel blood in Berry’s excellent portrayal of Sue Storm in the ‘X-Men’ series that rejected the DC infusion. Regardless of the reasons, there were no attempts to create more (thank God).

Hey Browncoats! Jana here,

screen-shot-2014-07-25-at-09-27-32

Firefly. I only need that one word to raise blood pressure, inspire hopes and in some cases, cause Mandarin curses through gritted teeth. Joss Whedon’s rag-tag group of soldiers, mechanics, a courtesan, a pilot, doctor and a preacher….and Jane, have burrowed into the depths of each and every Browncoat-loving fan. We curse Fox for their ignorance in airing the episodes incorrectly and then for canceling. With only one season in our grasp, we have sustained the furious fandom that we have, calling ourselves Browncoats.

NBC Is Reviving ‘Heroes’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 22nd, 2014

Hi, Bryan Here….

Heroes

Some interesting news is afoot over at NBC. Maybe it’s because the super-hero craze is at an all-time high right now, or it maybe that reboots and sequels are a sure way to make money, or maybe it’s because tons of people are salivating at the return of ‘24‘ with Jack Bauer that has NBC reviving ‘Heroes‘.

Jana B., Here….

 chakra-super-hero

Stan Lee is a legend when it comes to creating superheroes. X-men, Spiderman, Iron Man, Avengers and Thor are just a few of the characters he has co-created, or created outright. He revitalized the Marvel brand to the encompassing mega brand it is now. It stands to reason that if he touches it, success will inevitably follow. The man with the Midas touch. So it stands to reason that Cartoon Network, Liquid Comics, POW! Entertainment and CA Media’s Graphic India are collaborating to bring Chakra: The Invincible, Lee’s first ever Indian superhero, to television. The story of Raju Rai, a young Indian boy in Mumbai, that works with a mentor to create a suit that activates and harnesses the mystical chakras of the body so he can save the world from super villains is described by Lee as a “thrill-a-minute superhero saga”.

HEROES OF COSPLAY – GROUP CATEGORY

by Justin Cline on Sep 12th, 2013

logoFor those of you not already in the know, Heroes of Cosplay is a “reality” show currently airing on the Syfy network. Next week, the program will be airing its season finale, the second of two episodes filmed at Kansas City’s Planet Comicon. In this contest, the participants will be asked to compete as teams. Three of the show’s stars will be portraying characters from American McGee’s Alice, while yet another three will be recreating characters from How To Train Your Dragon.

While I’m certain their costumes and skits will be entertaining, I’m also of the opinion that the entire cast needs a bonding experience. To that end, I would like to suggest that they enter a group competition in the future as the characters from Pixar’s Toy Story movies.

And I like to think it would go a little something like this. Read the rest of this entry »

Hi, Bryan Here….

marvel

Marvel Studios has not let up one bit with prepping new films for more characters in their universe.  We do know that we will be getting a treasure trove of new superhero films over the next few years, which will lead up to ‘The Avengers 2‘ in 2015, which Marvel is calling Phase Two.  I guess Phase One started with the first ‘Iron Man‘ and ended with ‘The Avengers‘.

The Bishop Charlotte Reporting….

Having not seen Volumes 1 and 2, I considered that I might be a bit confused coming into the plot. However, a review like this can be done by a fangirl like me due to an extensive knowledge of comic book characters and situations. I marched right into Episode 14 of this series without breaking a sweat, and was mildly disappointed to learn that I am not special here – anyone could do it.
