THE FILM

It’s hard to compete with the first ‘Poltergeist‘ film. You had Steven Spielberg and Tobe Hooper behind the scenes there with an excellent mix of straight out horror and comedy. You would be laughing at Craig T. Nelson sucking in his stomach in front of the mirror one minute, and scared to piss and back at the clown doll attacking little Robbie. It was simply perfect in every way. Some four years later, the studio decided to make a sequel since the first film did so well critically and financially, and it was called ‘Poltergeist II: The Other Side‘.

Film Review: ‘Hail, Caesar!”

by Gumbercules9000 on Feb 3rd, 2016

Hi everyone, Bryan Here….

hail-caesar-josh-brolin

It’s always a good time when the Coen Bros. have a new movie in theaters. Film after film, the Coen Bros. have not only told bizarre, funny, violent, musical stories, but have conjured up some of the best characters in movie history. Their uncanny talent for telling stories on film is unrivaled with each movie they make. Their latest endeavor tackles the early years of Hollywood, specifically the year 1951, in a film called ‘Hail, Caesar!‘ that has an A-List cast of Coen regulars and newcomers. Even though the posters and trailers show this A-List cast throughout, the film follows one man, and that is Eddie Mannix (Josh Brolin), based on the real life Mannix who was a big time producer and  “fixer” at MGM.

Hey guys, Jana here,

game-of-thrones-season-6-poster_1280.0

You know you’re a part of a fandom when feeling deeply tortured by an episode or event begins to feel normal, you dread it, but you keep coming back for it. There are pros at the art of teasing the pain from a fan, bit at a time, slowly drawing blood when it’s barely noticeable, like Steven Moffatt (‘Doctor Who‘) or lopping a limb off all at once, once again like Moffatt, others that are experts in that particular brand of suffering are J.K. Rowling (‘Harry Potter‘)…and George-freaking-R.R. Martin lord and creator of ‘Game of Thrones‘.

Hi Bryan Here…..

The 84th annual Academy Award nominations are in.  There are a couple of surprises that I was very happy to see on here and tons of disappointment.  It looks like the Academy went with 9 Best Picture noms this year rather than 10.  They also only went with 3 noms for make up which I can think of others, and only two for original song.  Was this a time issue, so that the event would be over on time for once rather than have all 5 songs being sung?  I don’t like it, but that’s how it is this year.  Below you will see each category with my thoughts.  Enjoy.

Movie Quotes

Faye Dolan:
I have wasted thousands and thousands of kisses on you - kisses that I thought were special because of your lips and your smile and all your color and life. I used to think that was the real you, when you smiled. But now I know you don't mean any of it. You just save it for all your songs. Shame on me for kissing you with my eyes closed so tight.
