Set in the volatile world of 17th century Massachusetts, ‘Salem‘ explores what really fueled the town’s infamous witch trials and dares to uncover the dark, supernatural truth hiding behind the veil of this infamous period in American history. Hey guys, Jana here,

hemlock-grove

If you haven’t watched ‘Hemlock Grove‘, yet, you’re missing out…or you just don’t have Netflix, either way, you’re missing out!  This series grips you from the first scene and it’s not let up in the two seasons it’s been exclusively on Netflix. In an unsurprising turn, the VOD company has renewed the original series for a 10-episode third season that’s heading out way in 2015.

The twice Emmy nominated thriller has some pretty decent star-power filling out its ranks. Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgard and Dougray Scott are all featured. Janssen, best known from her days as Jean Grey in the original ‘X-Men‘ franchise, but has come into her own, shall we say, inner-bitch. Her characters are always underhanded, evil or they just want to eat children as in the case of ‘Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters‘ Oh! Don’t forget her absolute lack of concern for her daughter in ‘Taken‘. I adore Liam Neeson, but that movie-wife wanted to carry the testicles of every man she hooked up with in her perfect designer bag.

Bryan Reviews HBO’s ‘True Blood’ Season 4 Bluray!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 20th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

Here we are with HBO’s vampire series ‘True Blood’ season 4.  We can all sink our fangs into this one and come out blissful.  So let’s take a count, shall we?  Vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches, demons, ghosts, were-panthers, and shape shifters have all made an appearance in ‘True Blood’ so far.  That’s eight different creatures, some of who were introduced in season 4.  Can’t wait to see what new and insane creatures and monsters are in store for us in season 5.  This bluray release is stellar, much like its previous seasons with their top of the line audio and video presentations.  If you are a fangbanger or just love blood, then you know you’re going to pick this up.  ‘True Blood’ season 4 is an excellent edition to the collection.

Hi Bryan Here…..

Season Four of HBO’s ‘True Blood’ is coming to an end in the next three weeks and we here at Boomstick Comics have the scoop on to what you can expect from the last two episodes.  I’ve been enjoying this season quite a bit.  It has been great seeing Eric as a super nice guy.  I wonder if Lafayette will be the medium for another witch or dead vampire to defeat Marnie/Antonia.  Spoilers below.  Enjoy.

Angelic Zombi Here…

I Wish I Was the Moon

Airdate  7/31/2011

Okay, so this past episode of True Blood was less than stellar. It has been a while since my favorite vampire show since Buffy has bored me, but like I said, it was less than awe inspiring. But hey, I will be the first to admit, I was hoping for something more, so my expectations where a little raised because of last week’s episode. I kept waiting for something to happen, and it never really did. Sure, I’m impatient at times and yes I guess important things did happen this episode, so lets get on to the recap:

Angelic Zombi Here…

‘Me and the Devil’

Airdate 7/24/2011

True Blood episode “Me and the Devil”, while good in its own right, was clearly a filler episode. It moved and built up the many story lines that the show is working this season. On that note, it almost feels like the show is trying too hard to keep this many story lines going and keeping them interesting. The episode itself felt rushed and hurried. The transitions from scene to scene were abrupt and not what I’m used to when watching True Blood. Each scene basically gave us 5 minutes with each story line. It was a little on the frustrating side. It was like getting a massage five minutes at a time, when it starts to feel good it changes. But again as a whole I did enjoy the episode. Now on to a re-cap of the story lines!

‘Geostorm’ is Coming to Blu-ray!

by Gumbercules9000 on Dec 14th, 2017

You know you’re gonna want ‘Geostorm‘ on Blu-ray to watch every single detailed death, brought upon by hardcore weather. It’s basically ‘Independence Day‘, but with weather instead of aliens. Who doesn’t want to see that? The Blu-ray comes out January 23rd, but you can watch it digitally on January 16th. There will be behind the scenes extras, visual effects, and more included here too. Dolby Atmos sound is also included, which is damn good for this type of movie. Below are the full details for the release.

The ‘GeoStorm’ Trailer is Here!

by Gumbercules9000 on Mar 8th, 2017

Hi everyone, Bryan here…

Screen Shot 2017-03-08 at 1.53.42 PM

.In what looks to be the absolute WORST film of the last five years, ‘GEOSTORM‘ finally has a trailer. What is ‘GeoStorm‘ exactly? First off, let me just say that this film was supposed to come out a couple of years ago, but keeps getting pushed back – for obvious reasons. Mainly because, it looks like a giant SHIT-STORM of Epic proportions. This film is directed by Dean Devlin who really hasn’t done a directing gig, but rather produced the ‘Independence Day‘ films. So take that information and replace alien invasions with giant tornados, tsunamis, and snowballs the size of Mt. Rushmore hurling into skyscrapers.

It looks like Michael Myers will be back at killing people in theaters sooner than later. After all, killing is his business, and business is good. (I’ll show myself out.) That’s right, folks. Dimension Films is making yet another ‘Halloween‘ movie based off of John Carpenter’s original story.
