by Red Zeppelbon on Feb 19th, 2016

Hey guys, Jana here,

51Ze5qNt1PL

If you’re like me, your kids beg you to run out to every animated movie that hits the box office and, especially, if it’s a Disney movie. I’ll admit, I drag my feet on most films, but when it comes to Disney animated flicks, I’m just as excited as the kids are and can’t wait to hit the theaters.

Film Review: ‘The Good Dinosaur’!

by Gumbercules9000 on Nov 24th, 2015

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

maxresdefault

This year marks the first time that Pixar released to feature films in the same year. Usually, Pixar releases one film every year or two, but in 2015, we got both ‘Inside Out‘ and this new Thanksgiving release ‘The Good Dinosaur‘. There was good reason for this second release as well, as this might have been the first Pixar movie to ever have a troubled history of production. Back in 2009, Bob Peterson came up with the story and was set to direct ‘The Good Dinosaur‘ a couple of years later.

Scream Factory presents the Blu-ray debut of 1978’s ‘The Legacy‘. Katherine Ross, Sam Elliott and Roger Daltrey, John Standing and Margaret Tyzack star in this spectacular trip into the ridiculousness of a horror story that has satanic powers, black magic and witchcraft at its core.

Hey guys, Jana here,

The_Good_Dinosaur_MxPosters

Coming Thanksgiving of this year, Pixar and Disney comes a fantastic family feature, ‘The Good Dinosaur‘. The film answers the question “What if the asteroid that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct?” We enter a world of dinosaurs where an Apatosaurus named Arlo makes an unlikely human friend. The pair travel through a harsh and mysterious landscape where both learn the power of confronting their fears and discovering what they’re truly capable of.

Hey guys, Jana here,

nerdist723

Bobby Cannavale is one of those guys you might not recognize by name, but when you see his face, you’ll recognize him from a dozen different projects. Some of them being Marvel’s Ant-Man‘, the absolutely brilliant ‘Chef‘, ‘Will & Grace‘, ‘Boardwalk Empire‘, and my personal favorite, ‘Nurse Jackie‘. He’s recently coming off the recently canceled HBO series ‘Vinyl‘ and has picked another series to call home for the time being, this time it’s USA’s Mr. Robot‘.

Hey there party goers! So it seems that us folks here at Get on the Stick are becoming quite the sensation! As a reminder, we bat cleanup and cover those things Boomstick just hasn’t given enough love to. Says who? Fair enough, just remember that this is a safe space, and strives to be spoiler free. So grab your trusty towel and DON’T PANIC, because we are simply here to amuse. If you feel like you may be in the early stages of hyperventilating… sit down and take a few deep breaths and keep reminding yourself that you are on a rock hurtling through the vast emptiness of space orbiting the sun at over 66,000 mph. The term “Get on the Stick” is all about getting to work, so no more blather… Let’s get to it!

Fantastic Fest is one of the best film festivals in the U.S. not to mention the biggest. Everything there is awesome and amazing. Definitely the place to go if you love genre films as they feature the newest films from all categories featuring in horror, fantasy, sci-fi, action  from all over. ‘E.T.’ Will Return To The Big Screen!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 10th, 2012

Hi, Bryan Here….

That’s right, folks.  ‘E.T.’ will be on the big screen again, thanks to Turner Classic Movies and Fathom Events.  Screening will take place October 3rd at 7:00pm at select theaters across the country.  This marks the 30th anniversary of the film and most likely is geared to promote the new blu-ray coming out as well.  This was one of the first films I saw in the theater and it just blew my mind.  It was one of the first times my Dad and I bonded over a film.  Needless to say it holds a special place in my heart.  Not only will you get a newly remastered version of the film, but also a journey of the making of ‘E.T.’.  And yes, folks, this is this original film, not the version with the extra scenes or the CGI’d walkie-talkie replacements.  Spielberg acknowledged his fuck-up long ago and apologized.  The same can’t be said for Lucas.  I’m super excited about this and hope all of you can make it and take your kids to see this on the big screen.  Official press release below.
