Hey guys, Jana here,

Robert_Rodriguez

Robert Rodriguez is gifted with being able to truly mark his programs leaving no doubt as to who put the separate components together, that flair exists in ‘From Dusk Till Dawn‘, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mexico‘ and ‘Desperado‘ are just a few of the pictures that jump off the screen so vividly that we forget we’re looking through a screen.

Jana B., Here…

from-dusk-till-dawn

I get really sad when excellent film makers make really substandard movies, or in the case of Robert Rodriguez, entirely unoriginal tv shows. The show I’m lamenting is a TV version of From Dusk Till Dawn. It COULD be a good idea. When you have something as epic as the movie already in your stable, why turn that into a series? If you’re Robert Rodriguez, you’re hoping your fan base will follow the series to your new El Rey Network which is set to go live this December. Rodriguez is directing the first 2 episodes of the vampire blood-fest.

Univision Networks has announced that it will spawn a new network called the El Rey Network, which will be led by Robert Rodriguez and John Fogelman. El Rey will start towards the end of the year through Comcast, while Univision will handle the sales and distribution aspects. Rodriguez, who directed the ‘Spy Kids‘ films, ‘Sin City‘ and ‘Desperado‘ has just announced that one of their first shows that will air on the new El Rey network will be a TV series adaptation of one of his first films ‘From Dusk Till Dawn‘, which was written and worked on by his good friend Quentin Tarantino.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Charlie Sheen announced earlier today that he will be on the big screen once again as he is joining the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Machete Kills’, the sequel to ‘Machete’.  More good news, is that Sheen will play the United States of America.  It’s not going to be a large role, but it will be one of importance and great humor.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Antonio Banderas

Antonio Banderas has been a versatile and bankable actor since he made his bones in the 80’s. His films are as varied as ‘Sybil’s personalities. It depends on who you ask about his career as to what films they identify with. If you ask kids who he is, they will jump and say that’s Puss in Boots from ‘Shrek‘ or Gregorio Cortez from ‘Spy Kids‘ – That’s what my kids would say, at least. There are a lot of adults that would see ‘Zorro‘, the toothy Armand from ‘Interview With The Vampire‘, El Mariachi from Robert Rodriguez’s Mexico Trilogy and if you ask me, I’d say he was Che from ‘Evita‘. He has the most beautiful tenor voice and I was entranced quickly by his Spanish good looks and enchanting sound. He couldn’t really pull it off as the lead in ‘The Phantom of the Opera‘, but that’s a different story.

Film Review: ‘Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Aug 21st, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

sin-city-2-a-dame-to-kill-for-eva-green-ava-lord

Second verse, same as the first. It’s been almost ten years since Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller brought us the noir-soaked graphic novels known to comic book fans around the world as ‘Sin City‘, which was created by Miller himself. This seedy, ultra violent, and nasty underworld, where crime is rampant and the bad guys end up on top of this booze drenched and drug induced city is the backdrop for some of the most entertaining characters in ever to come out of a graphic novel.

Hey guys, Jana here,

Comic-Con gives and it just keeps giving. This time they gave us the red-band trailer for ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For‘. ‘Sin City‘ from 2005 and based on Frank Miller’s graphic novels, was a groundbreaking hit. Now Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Miller have joined forces once again to give us the next chapter in the tale of the inhabitants of Basin City. ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For‘ gives us more of Miller’s riveting storytelling and a lot more of the stylized violence the first installment was packed full of.

Enjoy the Trailer for ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Jun 11th, 2014

Hi everyone, Bryan Here…

mickey-rourke-sin-city-a-dame-to-kill-for

It’s been a long time in the making, but we finally have Robert Rodriguez’s first trailer to the sequel of ‘Sin City‘. ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For‘ was my favorite story out of Frank Miller’sSin City‘ story arc, and it looks like almost everyone is back in the sequel along with a few newcomers including Josh Brolin, Eva Green, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. They join Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, and Powers Boothe. The film opens August 22nd.

Hi, Bryan Here….

Valderrama_Wilmer-214x300

As you should know by now, there is going to be a ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ TV series that will air on the new Latino themed El Rey network. And yes, Robert Rodriguez is doing it, as he was the director for the original film.  Well it seems like now, they have cast Wilmer Valderrama in the show that has a 10 episode order for its first season for right now.

Film Review: ‘Machete Kills’!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Oct 14th, 2013

Hi, Bryan Here….

www.indiewire

‘Machete don’t tweet’ is one of the lines that is uttered by Danny Trejo’s iconic character, Machete Cortez in this new hilarious fun-as-hell sequel by Austin director Robert Rodriguez. It’s one of several “Machete don’t” pieces of dialogue that is said throughout the film. It’s funny, because Rodriguez actually made a ‘Star Wars‘ film with Machete in it this time around. Not only do we see machete lightsabers and similar characters in the ‘Star Wars’ universe, but we also get carbonite and landspeeders, and at the end of the film, it all comes full circle, as you’ll say, “I just watched a ‘Star Wars’ movie made by Robert Rodriguez. With an all-star cast and even more blood, guts, and kills than the first one, this over-the-top and highly entertaining sequel will sure make decent returns to warrant a third sequel, which is heavily promoted in the form of a trailer before the film starts and at the end of the film entitled ,’Machete Kills Again…In Space‘.

The Top 20 Vampire Movies Of All Time!!!

by Gumbercules9000 on Sep 20th, 2013

Jana B., Here…

085 - Evil Ed

I love making lists. Grocery lists. Bucket lists. Holiday lists. Favorite movie lists. Favorite VAMPIRE movie lists. I bet that got your attention, didn’t it? This is MY list of the top 20 Vampire movies ever made. Why did I point out that it was MY list? Easy. So you read this knowing it wasn’t an Academy vote that got a movie on this list. No one paid me to promote their movie. However, I’m NOT against this, just to be clear. Why spend time putting movies in a list? Maybe it satisfies some Freudian lack of paternal affection I suffered as a child. But the real answer is, “Why wouldn’t I make a list as awesome as this?”

Hi, Bryan Here….

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have hired Joseph Gordon-Levitt for their sequel film ‘Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For‘, which just happens to be my favorite story out of the ‘Sin City‘ series.  Gordon-Levitt will take on the role of Johnny, which is pretty much the lead character that overlaps a few of the stories that will be featured in the film.

Hi, Bryan Here…

Unfortunately, the late great and wonderful actor Michael Clarke Duncan will not be able to reprise his role as Manute in Robert Rodriguez‘s sequel of ‘Sin City‘ due to his untimely death.  However, actor Dennis Haysbert (President Palmer on ‘24‘) will replace Duncan in that role for the ‘Sin CIty’ sequel.  And if you haven’t seen Haysbert as President Palmer, it might just be the greatest president of the USA ever portrayed on television.
